Lady Vols Softball Coach Karen

I do wonder if it is the difference between slow pitch and fast pitch softball. When I was younger (and I leave near Chattanooga), slow pitch softball was everywhere for both men, women and coed teams. Industrial leagues, church leagues, at the schools - though it was more in the lower grades - point is everyone played slow pitch softball. But it is nowhere to be found and very limited fastpitch outside of the high schools.

Also to note, most girls play in the youth baseball leagues where I live.
IMO the difference was pitching and hitting. Fast Pitch you had to have skilled pitchers and it was hard to hit it. Slow pitch just about anyone could pitch for you and everybody could hit. Made the game much more fun for all. But having been involved with both I think fast pitch is definitely the more exciting game.

Yes but that was somewhat offset by the number of new offensive players and their experience. I saw improvement from Ella, Emma, the Leach's and more. I don't believe it's accurate to judge the hitting effectiveness on one years worth of stats especially in a conference like the SEC.
If he came from Texas Tech, how did Texas Tech get this far?

On a different note, the worthless ****ing umps ****ed Texas on that call. The replay umps should be fired as well. How in the hell can the NCAA hire such worthless POS.

I totally agree. Most difficult game I have ever tried to play, and that includes ; golf, tennis, basketball, football, trap shooting, and baseball.

By my count, she has 32 championships. She has however not won a World Series which must be your point. How many coaches out there have won WCWS championships?
doesnt matter about other coaches. they have made the world series and basically disappear because of her coaching mistakes. loyalty is one thing but its time for new blood at the top.

there’s one coach a year that wins the championship and in softball that’s usually patty gasso. you aren’t getting her.
the occasional world series trips will be the limit under this coach. guess thats better than not making it. everyone should get a trophy. yippie

Move the CWS out of Oklahoma and roll it around the way the basketball tournaments are assigned and it would surprise no one to find Oklahoma somehow would be a good program but not so great.
Like this year. Decent pitcher/pitching staff. NIL players evened the playing field and those depth players Patty had on the bench are now starters elsewhere. Better conference of weekly battles and they got exposed a little bit.

WCWS isn’t moving anytime soon.

Exposed but still won the SEC. Without the expansion of the SEC to include Texas and Oklahoma, the SEC met the same number of teams that routinely make the WCWS over the past several years. I don’t believe the “grind” of a SEC schedule affected anything and probably due more to the heavy turnover of starters Gasso had, especially in the circle.

* on sharing the SEC. Yes, her lack of depth was on display as more teams have them as starters now.

some of you people could be sold a bag of tomatoes and get onions and be happy with it. i dont understand being happy with playing for championships and never winning one and being ok with it. a life filled with mediocrity i guess is enough for some of you fans.

After what equates to two final fours you don't want to make a move next season. Were in position to go all the way need a better offense think the pitching is going to be our best in years next season. I agree Weekly has failed to get the offense where it needs to be and I can agree that we may eventually need to go with another coach, but not next season she has earned the right to return with two top four finishes and SEC and SEC Tournament Championships.

I believe KW deserves the benefit of the doubt. I want her to win it all, like all of us do. The LV’s are so close to getting there. What is it that is keeping us from reaching the pinnacle? In my opinion, talent is not the issue. Only KW and coaching staff can really address what are the hiccups each year. If an honest assessment is made and changes are reflected of those assessments then we will be on the right track. I do realize that with all the new rules of transfers, NIL, etc..,winning the WCWS is going to be even harder for any team.

I'm a fan whether they lose or not. You don't understand what a fan feels because you are likely not one. Your words and associations define you....not that you post here.

I’ve watched and rooted for this team since Monica Abbott. I’ve earned the right to demand more as a fan.
