The Lady Vol basketball team took to the court for the first time of the 2008-09 season and came away with an impressive 135-55 victory over Carson Newman in Thompson-Boling Arena Thursday night.

Watched the game on-line last night. Pretty impressive debut for the team. We have some players. It looked like they could all bring the ball up the court except for maybe Cain. She did run the floor pretty well though. I'm still concerned about the play at PG. I think that is the glaring weakness on this team. Hopefully, time and practice will cure that. Bass may end up being a good player, but I think some will be expecting her to shoot like Bobbit and that's not going to happen yet. Maybe someday, but not now. Glory Johnson may eventually make people forget about Parker. I think she will give more effort consistantly than Parker. Time will tell. Saddle up folks, it's going to be a heck of a year.
