I read somewqhere today where Andy Landers has been coaching UGA a number and years his salary is not even 1/2 of Pats.I guess the N/C = big raises.

uh what? She has more wins than any other coach in the history of college basketball. How many national titles? How many Top 5 rankings? How many people go to watch the Lady Vols at TB just to watch her coach? A TON!

No Pat Summit...no tons of ticket sales for the women's basketball program.

That woman has earned her paycheck. All the money she brings into that school because she is the coach?

You have got to be kidding me??? This comment baffles me!

UT is on the map because of her and Fulmer. No Summit or no Fulmer and we would have zero titles in womens basketball or football.

the revenue for women's bb pales in comparison to the mens program. Just consider tv revenue alone.

there's no reason for her to be making close to what Pearl makes. I'm not a fan of this political correctness. she was given a raise to make her salary comparable to Pearls.

Market forces ie womens bb did not drive her salary to that level.

So she doesn't deserve the money because noone else is getting that much? Funny, I thought it was up to UT as to how much she earns. I figured that 6 NC's, and Final Fours every year deserved like 800k a year...especially when Pearl gets over 1.2 mil. after his first season.

From the budget, it looks like the women's program has over 4 million in revenue...we can afford to pay Summitt what she deserves, not what people think she deserves because it's women, rather than men.

Should Pearl make anything close to Fulmer? I mean, look at the revenues.... (/sarcasm)

You are right...Summit drove her salary that high. She brings more money into that school and I am not just talking about revenue from games or tv.

More wins than any other coach in the history of college basketball drives your salary up.

Even if UT is overpaying, we're overpaying the best college basketball coach of all time ... which is okay.

if the women's bb program had to flip the bill for the facilities I don't think that program is in the black.
