Ladies & gentlemen everyone has been waiting & waiting for this team to hit a very good stretch this season. Everyone has been saying that were are just young & we havent hit our potential yet, that we should hit a nice streak going down the stretch. Well guess what? That streak needs to start right here because this is as easy as it will get for us the rest of the schedule.

After coming off an absolute stunning game we played Saturday night, we saw just how good this team can be ( even though i think it was also i biproduct of Florida sagging back on D ). This teams confidence is flying high right now. Our next five games:

@ Arkansas - this Arkansas team isnt the same one that beat Oklahoma & Texas earlier this year, were about to met a Arkansas team that is on it's heels a little right now

@ Auburn - very experience but undersized team, we should own the boards & the paint in this game.

Georgia - we did everything we could to hand them the game down in Athens earlier this month but we still came out with a 9 point win

Vandy - We all saw how horrific this team is two weeks ago. Beat them by 13 in Nashville.

@ Ole Miss - Will probably be the toughest game of this stretch, very young & thin on the bench. If they can stay healthy will be a very good game. But i think our depth will be a key factor in this one.

Will determine if this team wants to be in the NCAA tourney or not. Say we come out of this stretch 5-0, we will be 18-7 ( 9-2 ) & looking real good in conference play even if we go 4-1 in this stretch we will be 17-8 ( 8-3 ) & looking real good for the NCAA tourney. This team can not afford to win less than 4 games out of the next 5. Right here & now is where we need to play our best ball & if we cant, its going to be NIT time again folks.

I don't think 3-2 puts us out of the tourney, but it would put us on the bubble. We should at least go 4-1 though.

Arkansas worries me, if only because we are going to be that "big game" for them just like Florida was for us.

if we can keep up the intensity we had the other night then theres no reason we shouldnt go 5-0. with that said actually doing that and playing that way is another thing. the vols have a great opportunity to take advantage of in front of them in which by the time they face kentucky again they can be atop the standings. 5-0 wouldobviousy be great and is possible, i just hope pearl keeps them focused andlevel headed and on track.

The intensity of this team sometimes is something that is desired. I'm sorry, but I'm still not convinced this team has reached his potential. Your telling me that we shoot that way from 3 again? Your telling me we still have a 20 pt lead at halftime w/ Calathes in? I don't think so. Come to me after the Arkansas game and will see if this team has reached its potential.

did i ever say that they have reached their full potential, and did i ever say they would beat florida by 20 with calathes playing the whole game? i dont believe i did. i believe this team has much more potential than what we saw because if we shoot consistently like we did then that will help our inside game and overall game, and we will play a better whole game than we did against florida. im not saying we will shoot as good, we may ormay not but we saw that we can shoot and that defenses need to atleas respect our outside shot now.

You've got promise, and you've got potential.
Our team has potential. Promise? Not so much...

I agree with that post.....3-2 is unacceptable.

And I say that not against UT or anything, but realistically if they want to make it to the tourney, they need to win at least 4 of those 5.

With road trips to USC, FLA., and Kentucky still on the slate.

Winning 4 of 5 would putting us at 8-3. Winning at least 1 of those 3 games against the above mentioned would put us at 9-5 or 18-10. Im not sure of the other two teams remaining, Im guessing its Bama and Miss. State. if we win 1 of those two then were 19-11.

Now here comes the most important stretch of all.......THE SEC TOURNEY!!! IMO

At this point UT has to win one of its tourney games to get in....period!!!!!!

Of those stretches of games mentioned above, which do you guys think are the most important? In my opinion its going to be the road trips to Lexington, Gainesville, and Columbia (A fired up Gamecocks team that is 16-4 and almost came back to beat us in Knoxville.)?

Nor did they have any Business losing 3 of 4 at home (I think), but they did. The worst thing they could do is hang their heads after a loss on the road. They must remain focused. Tennessee can afford to to drop a few here and there, but they need to be careful not to let those losses start to creep up on them. To me the worst case scenario would be for them to have must wins at FLORIDA, KENTUCKY, and SOUTH CAROLINA...Im not sure they are ready for that kind of pressure.

We can only hope that this team has found some kind of life with that last win over Florida.....
