Anybody here follow? My youngest son will be playing for UT this year. He grew up wanting to wear the Power T but stopped football a few years ago after a couple concussions. Now he gets to still wear a UT uni.
If you have an athletic kid who is 10-13 years old, I suggest you try and give it a shot. The action is non stop. Middies will sprint 3-4 miles in a game at HS and up levels and its physical. Like hockey, you don’t get the speed until you see close and in person. And..there are many opportunities to play in college if that’s the goal. Your child will have 4x the chance to play in college over football, basketball and baseball.
I expect SEC to have a league soon. It’s club now like Rugby and hockey but all these kids had offers. Most wanted to go to an SEC school and enjoy the college experience.
Great sport and growing. Give it a shot.

My son played in high school. I had never really watched it but the first time I saw it live and figured it out, I loved it. It’s got speed, violence and strategy. What more could you want lol?

Hope he had a blast. It’s growing at a rapid pace. I mentioned football and I love football but it’s violent and at a certain level there’s a difference at contact and my son never really had it in him to want to take someone’s head off and wore 26/32 pants lol so not ideal.
He also played slot so may have had a touch or two per game. Then goes to lacrosse and in a game runs 3 miles, has a bunch of touches, dodges a few, defense 1 v 1 20 + times, a few shots, couple of goals of and a couple assists and a good hit or two. So much fun. We won btb state titles in TN but failed at a 3rd this year as talent in the area has increased. Nolensville for example has 7 kids committed/signed. They likely haven’t had that many football kids signed in years.
I hope more parents get their kids to try it. And for an athletic girl? No brainer. They don’t wear helmets and can’t hit or use their stick to joust and hit like boys so if I had an athletic/agile girl it would be a no brainer for sure and guaranteed college offers.
Crazy thing is you think your team and son is good then you go play Lambert or head to Maryland for a summer tourney and get humbled quickly.
I’m glad you enjoyed what I have and hope more do.
