I know this has been posted on the recruiting forum, but I also know that a lot of us don't really hang out over there that much. Since Prater was such a hot topic recently, I thought everyone deserved an update (even though you probably don't want to read it on a full stomach) This is from Rivals and Prater was talking about his trip to USC this past weekend:

"This was everything I came to see. I'll just say . . . amazing," the Hillside (Ill.) Proviso West product said. "USC is still the leader, nothing at all to change that."

"I'm going to be announcing my decision on Sept. 2," Prater said. "I think I've seen all I have to see. I'm still thinking about taking all my officials, but I want to make my commitment on the 2nd. So, I'm still trying to work that out, but obviously something is going to have to change."

Its going to be tough to beat out USC until we start winning on the field.

But, we are in it till the end with a lot of top recruits... we're heading in the right direction.

yep. I love the fact that we're already in a lot of top recruits' lists, especially with WRs. It's hard to convince them to come to a school with our QB play and a new offense.

Bama LOCK. ;)

Seriously though, I'm not really sold on Prater. Sure, if we got him, it would be great (long shot) but I don't think he's going to be as good as his ranking. He looks slow and unathletic to me - not to mention the competition he's playing against.

I'm not saying he won't be good, but I'm not sure he's THAT good.

At least he is not going to an SEC school. Wait to J Jackson meets him in the middle in the BCS Championship game.

Yeah, I'd have to say that being in competition with USC until the end is a good sign. Remember, we can't get 'em all.

Ehhh, Hate to lose this kid but got some nice prospects still out there and I certainly wouldn't say no to Cobbs...That kid is a super athlete.

Cobb would be a phenomenal pick up. He doesn't even have to play WR, the guy has the potential to play several different positions, and has the frame to bulk up and play LB even. We are recruiting him for WR, but you never know.

How bout Cobbs meets him across the middle ?

And what could he have seen at USC that is better than anything we have here ???

Not sure, but if he enjoys living in the hood, then going to USC will work out perfectly :eek:lol:

I REALLY liked Prater, but somehow USC got another top recruit that UT was in the hunt with, but with a good stable of recievers coming in I really can't complain

How about Keenan Allen? I think this guy or what I've seen on him on video is pretty dang good. Forget the star power according to some, this guy is good. I hope we are offering him.
