Kotaku: MS and Sony Targeting 2014 for New Consoles

Make a point then.

Forza 3 =/= GT5

I suppose it's a AAA title but it's not going to sell consoles and it doesn't have the name Gran Turismo and all that that carries. Sim racers are also borderline niche titles.

The rest of what you posted were nowhere close to triple-A titles, some weren't even relevant anymore.

Splinter Cell is another exclusive that MS has that appears to have slipped from relevance. PS3 is also getting the Splinter Cell multi-pack shortly, so it's not even full exclusivity.

A) Gran Turismo 5 was a flat out joke. I wish I would have known so I wouldn't have wasted 370 bucks to get it and a PS3. Forza is, and always has been much better value as a console racer.

B) Neither of the two games are sims.

Any info as to why you think it's a joke? I haven't played it but I doubt it's that bad. I'll agree that Forza is probably the better over racing game/package, impressive series considering how fast they've risen to this level. From what I've seen Gran Turismo 5 would still win in the graphics/details department.

Both games are as sim as it gets on a console so I'll call them sims.

Gran Turismo focuses way too much time on making cars no one wants, and that aren't at all fun to drive. And considering that more than half the cars are just tossed in from GT4, they aren't that great on graphics either. The only parts of the game where GT5 has the advantage are karts and the track maker. The modding sucks, the choice of cars suck, and the time it takes to get anything desirable sucks. And even when you do get it, the fun INSTANTLY wears off. As a matter of fact, the whole presentation starts to not matter a bit when the first week passes. I played the **** out of Forza. It was immersive, I could play around a ton with the cars, I had cars I wanted and those cars had championships I could run in where there were prizes that I actually enjoyed getting. Plus, if there's a car missing from the game, the devs actually make DLC(shock horror, they actually realize that the game always needs more) and it's been worth having every single time.
