Your probably right about that.. Thats a big IF though.
They would have to win 3 games on the road to do that though. I really hope they can go to the secg and win.. then win in the sugar bowl.. I just dont see that happening though.

if MH hires another coordinator, he has to hire somebody with fire, or this train is gonna go even further off the tracks. i cant see any legit coaching prospect wanting to come here knowing a new HC will be immediately following.

That's the problem with allowing Fulmer to hang around another year or two. Any good coach is not going to want to take the chance to come here and be looking for a new job in a year or two. The longer this thing continues, the longer it will take to get it turned back around. TN used to be able to offer recruits the opportunity to play on a winning team playing for championships, to play on TV and have National exposure. Now what can they offer? Therein lies the problem. The Vols will have a continually more difficult time landing good players and things will only get worse until change comes at the HC position.

that is what is going to kill us, if Fulmer stays. granted, if we do win the SECCG, which i agree with you guys is unlikely, it will make us look bad to fire our coach. if we keep him, we are gonna look bad on the field next year. rebuilding under a coach that is on his way out, is pointless. it leaves us in a bad situation that only Fulmer can fix. he hasnt been fixin' much.

Giving our coach 9 years without winning the SEC doesn't make us look bad at all.

no doubt, if it werent for Bowden and JoePa, we would be an even bigger laughing stock of the coaching world. i bought my UT flag right after the UF debacle, and everybody in line and the cashiers were kidding me about Fulmer. not about our team, mind you, but the coach.

My wife is one of Phil's harshest critics and she's an LSU grad. A lot of LSU fans here are HOPING Tennessee makes it to the SECCG. Mind you, after watching their sloppy play of late, LSU might need to just worry about beating Arkansas next week. I think Tennessee could beat LSU if the Vols executed well and LSU put in one of their more recent efforts.
