Kongbo and Warrior ready for their starts

I could be wrong but my understanding was that he had not played DT and had basically refused to play DT. I thought that was part of Jones' angst with him.

Maybe someone else can shed some light on this?

He has played inside. I feel like that's because Butch wants him there full time. And if that's the case I don't think it was the best idea to call out a player's maturity because you didn't get your way. If Kongo wants to move full time then great but if not, I can't fault him for it because he may feel he can be more successful outside and coaching staffs aren't always right. Neither are players but I just don't automatically jump to the conclusion that he is selfish.

What are you nuts? No, I want to see Taylor get some run at DE before Kongbo. Kongbo has been insisting that he play DE, not DT, and all I'm saying is that Taylor should get that opportunity before Kongbo. If Kongbo wants to play, he should slide his 285 lb arse down to DT where he can actually help the team due to rash of injuries at that position.

I like Taylor but he is a weakside DE. I'm all for Kongbo sliding inside temporarily but I'm not writing him off at strongside DE yet.

I had the same thought watching that game except I included Tennessee's entire defensive line. They made UL's OL look like a sieve with huge holes in it. Super fast pass rush.

Warrior I'll buy. Kongbo I'll believe when I see it. Perhaps he just got caught up in and influenced by the hype surrounding his recruitment and/or the Hurd situation and now reality has set in? Maybe the light has come on and he's truly gotten it together, but again, I've yet to see him take that next step in maturation. We could sure use him, but.....

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. I'm uncomfortable with the whole notion that players can veto position changes as it seems to exist within the program.

In my mind, that's one legitimate reason that a player and program should part ways. If you don't want to play where the coaches ask you to play then see if you can find someone who let you player where you want to play.

IMHO, pretty much anyone would want Kongbo to become a tackle whether in a 4 down or 3 down system.

Maybe Saunders putting a complete whooping on Kongbo in the COL drill this past week woke him up. DT, DE whatever you still have to play hard and tough. I get he's raw technique wise but I think what's been questioned by the staff is his motor. Too much giddyup and not enough whooo.

I was basically saying I don't care if he has a bad attitude as long as he takes it out on the opponent. You a refugee from No Child Left Behind?
