Going to the Valarium tomorrow night. Can anyone recommend a good resturant close to there? I know all the chain places, but I was looking for maybe a place to get some good food and a drink or 2. Nothing too fancy, just casual around that area.

Downtown Brewery has suprisingly good food. Their burger last time I was there was damn good.

it is a toss up between brewery or namas. i guess you gotta go with the place that has brewery in the name especially before a live band.

If you don't want fancy, there's always Sawyers off the strip. Or Falafal Hut, or Gus's, or Sam and Andys.

Or, kick it like high rollers and hit up Ruth's Chris for a nice steak. Or Ye Old Steakhouse on Chapman for a better steak.

Go to Pasta Trio in the Old City...

Authentic Italian and you can bring in your own wine or drink some of theirs if you want...

But you should make reservations because its very popular

I thought Nama moved out of the building on Gay St?

That is interesting you would say that, because there is a Nama's on Kingston Pike that i noticed 2 weeks ago. Not sure if it is a second location of Nama or if it is actually the location that Nama moved to.

If anybody knows where Mayo's/Fairbanks is, it is at the old Cha Cha's Tapas bar that closed a few months ago.

there WAS two namas. i'm not sure if the first one moved, but the one on kingston pike has been there for a while, and it's hard as hell to find.

By a while, you must mean maybe less than 4-6 months, because the Nama's location I saw was at one time Cha Cha's. Cha Cha's closed not more than 6 months ago I do believe.

it was at the beginning of summer when i was over there(the one on kingston pike). you had to go behind the steakhouse and it was on the corner of another street and kingston pike, but completely hidden. if the namas on gay st has closed, it's been pretty recent...because i think it was the very last of june when i was there.

I believe that Nama is renovating. They are currently open in the old Cha Cha's building in Bearden.

We had a good pre-concert meal at Crown and Goose in the Old City a couple of weeks ago. Great appetizers, quality English grub, and an outdoor beer garden.

You could also check out La Costa in Market Square. Reasonable tapas place with some interesting dishes.
