Here is a TL;DR about Ohio University for those interested or those who simply need something to help pass the time. Hats off to a school that boasts both Cool Hand Luke AND MacGyver as attendees.
Ohio Bobcats football began in 1894 with an 80 loss to*Marietta College. Since then, the Bobcats have posted a 53253548 record over their 120-year existence and a 21524811 record over their 68 years in MAC games. In 1960, the Bobcats were crowned National Small College Champions after compiling a 100 record under Bill Hess. Ohio played in their fifth consecutive bowl game, losing to*East Carolina in the*2013 Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl.
They play at Peden stadium which has a seating capacity for 24,000. They are coached by Frank Solich who is in his 12th year and currently play in Division 1 FBS.
Solich spent 19 seasons at*Nebraska*as an assistant coach underTom Osborne, four as the freshman team coach, and 15 seasons as running backs coach. In Solichs 19 years as an assistant, the Huskers captured three*national championships*and 11 conference titles.*Osborne retired after the 1997 national championship season and named Solich as his successor. Solich directed the Huskers to six consecutive*bowl games, including his*2001 squad, which started 110 but was beaten by Colorado 6236 in the last regular season game.
