Here is a TL;DR about Ohio University for those interested or those who simply need something to help pass the time. Hats off to a school that boasts both Cool Hand Luke AND MacGyver as attendees.

Ohio Bobcats football began in 1894 with an 8–0 loss to*Marietta College. Since then, the Bobcats have posted a 532–535–48 record over their 120-year existence and a 215–248–11 record over their 68 years in MAC games. In 1960, the Bobcats were crowned National Small College Champions after compiling a 10–0 record under Bill Hess. Ohio played in their fifth consecutive bowl game, losing to*East Carolina in the*2013 Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl.
They play at Peden stadium which has a seating capacity for 24,000. They are coached by Frank Solich who is in his 12th year and currently play in Division 1 FBS.
Solich spent 19 seasons at*Nebraska*as an assistant coach underTom Osborne, four as the freshman team coach, and 15 seasons as running backs coach. In Solich’s 19 years as an assistant, the Huskers captured three*national championships*and 11 conference titles.*Osborne retired after the 1997 national championship season and named Solich as his successor. Solich directed the Huskers to six consecutive*bowl games, including his*2001 squad, which started 11–0 but was beaten by Colorado 62–36 in the last regular season game.

Ohio University*is a*public*research university*in*Athens, Ohio. Its charter was approved in 1804*and opened for students in 1809. Approximately 40,000 students are enrolled between the five campuses and*the eLearning program.
●The*Ordinance of 1787*made Ohio University the first ever to be chartered through acts of Congress, with the very purpose of expanding education, particularly for servicemen and families.
●In 1964, U.S. President*Johnson*publicly referenced his*Great Society*initiative*for the first time on the College Green, bringing*Ohio U*into homes across America.
●Ohio University*in Athens is the No. 1*party school*in the nation for 2015, according to a new*ranking*by Playboy magazine.
Notable attendees/alumni:
Paul Newman
Krista Allen
Nancy Cartwright
Matt Lauer
Richard Dean Anderson

I'm supportive of this idea - but could we keep it relevant?

Tell me about their team last year, who they bring back, and what their strengths and weaknesses are.

AKA, if this is anywhere close to a good game Saturday, the sky is falling and we should all prepare for a Gator beatdown.

Probably a silly question and I may have overlooked the post, but are we still doing "what the other opponents are saying on their message boards"? I love those.

Tennessee is 1-0 all time vs the Bobcats. They beat Ohio 34-23 in 2009. Frank Solich was their head coach then.

One of our Chattanooga brethren does this. Not sure how much he'll have this week. That's isn't a whole lot of activity on their board.

If you don't hit JackieO's you are doing yourself a humongous disservice in life. I recommend the mystic momma, slightly warm. Swish it around your mouth. Tastes like bubblegum. Welcome to Ohio beer.

Also, you might be surprised by the HUGE amount of vols support in southern Ohio. Athens my even be overrun by vol fans from Ohio.

Not quite, Ohio has a pretty strong following. I live about 35 miles from there. They played us well last time, and can be a pesky team, but I don't see this being any sort of contest.

I was on an Delta flight (to a UT game vs. UCLA) with MacGyver... pretty good feeling knowing if anything goes wrong it could be fixed with a swiss army knife (and maybe a paper clip, ballpoint pen, rubber band, tweezers, nasal spray, and a turkey baster.).
