Knight has 300+ yrds rushing. Do we put a spy on him?

Rush three.... 1 spy.... selective 4 man rush. (Worked on Johnny and he ain't Johnny)

LSU has a different skill on the edge and in thr secondary.

At least in the past 4 years anyway..

You don't spy a quarterback. Our defenders need to be very disciplined in their rushing schemes and not let him find seams to escape in.

A good portion of the time LSU only uses 2-3 DL even when they were in the 4-3 against TAM.... beckwith moved to the DL for a good majority of the plays to get speed last year. Deion Jones was brought in the Johnny days to shadow even though he was not a starter for his speed.

Speed, not size. Shouldn't have more than 4-5 DL/LB on the field, unless its short yardage situation. 6-7 DBs on the field.

If the DBs can tackle, chances are good you win, if the DBs hit the Wrs behind the line when the catch the screens and take them down on a constant basis.... blowout city.

DBs can't tackle = very long day

Gotta get pressure on him and force him to make bad throws. Can't let him get out and run

If so, who? His feet wrecked Arkansas. The Hogs outplayed A&M for much of that game until late.

That stat is a bit inflated because he put out 157 yards on arkansas. He had a respectable 84 vs south carolina. Interestingly of his rough total of 390 yards rushing, almost 2/3 of those yards came from his last two games (264/392). His legs are on fire as of late, but his completion percentage for the year is only 54.24%. Interestingly the games where knight had his lowest completion percentage were games where he was limited to 42 yards or less (UCLA and Auburn). Looks like the key to containing that aggie offense is keeping knight from running.

May be a good idea to spy him.

Also, two good games to watch to show how other teams have tried to reduce contain the aggies on offense would be the auburn and south carolina games. These two games had the lowest adjusted QBR for Knight and also were the two lowest scoring games for the aggies. (UCLA may also be a good game, as it went into overtime).

Most of his run yardage came from delayed runs up the middle, when there was literally nobody there. Presumably the routes pulled everybody out of the middle of the field. And I mean literally everybody. If that happens, it's on the defensive planning.

Excellent. A spy would ruin his running production then.
