Kliff Kingsbury for OC

I said this in another thread, I would really like this hire. The guy is aggressive, young, and is a players coach. Plus his experience with QBs would fill that void on our staff as well.

Jones has already said he "hopes to be coaching with DeBord for a long time" according to Rucker earlier this week.

I like Kingsbury but there won't be any turnover in staff on the offensive side IMO. At most, DeBord retires, Azzani takes over, and Sheridan gets bumped to full time.

Here we go again. Already crowning yet another assistant as the best thing since sliced bread. I remember no too long ago when we heard similar posts when Shoop got hired. Nobody is going to score on Tennessee. He is one of the top DCs in the country. Our defense is going to be elite. Blah, blah, blah. Now with KK, he is an offensive God and he is this and that.

As soon as he came here and our offense sputtered, it will be time to fire him and look for someone else.

Most of that was coming from Shoop himself.

Our offense is great. Dobbs 60% completion and our average score is like 36 points per game in SEC play. Why on earth would you want anyone else?

I get what you're saying but Shoop is one of the best. Men who are in the business agree.

edit: AC makes me curse sometimes

Did I miss something? Last I checked he's the head coach at his alma mater. How in gods green earth could anyone ever consider this a possibility? That's that's the equivalent of expecting Gruden to hc with Peyton as oc and Saban as dc. Lol.

Kliff rakes in 3.5 million at TTech.

Believe the highest paid coordinator in football is Chavis @ about 1.5 mil.

But yeah, don't let your dreams be dreams...

Guys leave us alone and let us be positive in this thread lol. But honestly I made the suggestion because he was on the hot seat. Obviously he wouldn't voluntarily step down at TTU and come to Tennessee as a coordinator, but if he was fired it would be a good guy to at least talk to about the position. Vols by 100.

Butch will never hire someone with the potential to take his job. He's too concerned with self promotion and preservation to allow that to happen.

Well with this being the last year on DeBord's contract it seems they would have already extended it if they were going to, so I don't think it's a crazy thought to see an upcoming change. However, I mentioned earlier where Byron Moore had said that as long as Butch Jones is our coach the offense won't change, essentially meaning that it doesn't matter who the OC is because Butch calls the shots. I think that goes along with what many people on this board think that DeBord is just a "yes" man. Heck DeBord may not even want an extension with all the pressure and stress of the job. But I agree, while I'd want a hotshot OC if we had a change, it more than likely wouldn't happen.

Why would you want a change? Offense is not a problem. It's not perfect, like every other offense, but it's one of the best in the SEC.

Some of these threads you would think couldn't get more idiotic and then they surprise you. Wonder if a breathalyzer should be attached to computers before you are allowed to use it?
