If before the season you would have offered me this deal with the Devil:
Win 3 out of 4 of our gauntlet with the only loss being to TAMU, I would have jumped on it.
Now, I want to renegotiate the deal to go 4 & 0. :clapping:
I'm a greedy bastidge. Lol.
git somewhere..... u putting us in danger of coming out of this 2-2. u what's wrong with this country now!:eek:lol:

Doubt he's ready until after Bama. Same for Maybin. These next two games are tall orders for our kids. It's going to take a complete effort by the entire team and staff.....and some luck.

You mean Mavis, right?

This has a bit of an Oregon feel to it from a few yrs back. I can see Vols getting hammered big time...but then I see how A and M was less than dominant vs South Carolina...and feel we have a good shot.

These injuries to those 3 key players you'd think would severely hamper us...and it almost should...and would be understandable if it did.

Why does it seem we've played EVERYBODY and Bama has played NOBODY yet...except Ole Miss? In due time I guess.

Vols CAN win this..but without Kirkland, Sutton and JRM? Man, this gauntlet is BRUTAL.

This is in no way resembles Oregon. Those teams were completely over matched and embarrassed, even on our own field! Make no mistake, this is a tall order, but we will compete, and might even win, but in no way does this resemble Oregon. This TXAM team is not Oregon either. Mcknight has had a few nice game! He's not superman. I think we can do a decent job on him actually. If we were at full strength I would feel really good about the weekend! But we will see. Either way, we are 2-0 against Fla and GA this year baby! GBO

In that game UT took a knife to a gun fight talent wise. We now have a roster talented enough to compete with anyone....it all will come down to execution. TAMU may beat the socks off of us, but it won't be because we lack the speed and talent to compete.

Not only that, but in the first game with them we simply lacked any depth at all and it showed later in the game. We have a lot more depth than we did then.

Can't wait to see Trevon McKnight hitting the field Saturday. I'm interested to see if he performs better than Josh Dobbson.

A&M held out Garrett, Sealy-Jones, Kirk, and 2 starting OLinemen for the SC game. I wouldn't take much from that game as I suspect most if not all will play against UT.

Not even up for comparison. Jones' first year witha depleted roster vs a team with a lot of talent, albeit some key injuries. I'll be shocked if this team gets blown out by anybody this year. We're good enough to beat Texas A&M. Just need some lights out play from our D-line to help out our weakNess at LB. Shoop was known for getting the best out of lesser athletes so we know he can do it again Saturday.

Kirk played, was targeted over 10 times and had 61 yards. Sealy-Jones will be out again against us per insiders from TEXAM site. Garrett still not 100% which is great news for Kendrick. Only one offensive tackle for TexAM was out (Jermaine Eluemunor), but I don't think that will change the "wrecking havoc" mindset that Barnett and Vereen will have this game. Speedy Noil was the other receiver that didn't travel to SC, and he should be back, which sucks.

Can't they just set a guy to cover knight? Does kirkland have to be healthy for this to happen?

Keep in mind that this takes one guy out of coverage. Running a lot of zone defense can pretty much accomplish this without that sacrifice, since the secondary is then playing with their face to the QB.

Not sure if Shoop employs much zone. Anyone have a clue?

I'm starting to get a bad vibe that Maybin needs surgery...I sure hope I'm wrong!
