Kirk Herbstreit on expansion

The NCAA pitched the “traditions” argument to the Supreme Court and were basically told where they can shove them. Things change. Traditions will too

Just heard Herbstreit on Finebaum reiterate the exact same thing I have been saying in the NIL
thread . Nobody is saying people shouldn’t get paid, but this needs to be monitored or policed for the betterment of the game.

I think your right but there’s no roof if kids are getting crazy numbers thrown at them. Didn’t one kid forgo his last year of HS chasing a dollar?

To me that’s the bigger problem. Lots of unknown variables can absolutely ruin this for the fans and the players.

I agree but it's not going to happen. Nobody is going to really speak up...too afraid being labeled something like a hater or racist
I think it will happen eventually, in one capacity or another. It may happen when everyone leaves the NCAA and forms their own governing body,

I agree on monitoring but in these days & times, any controls are going to be taken as 'oppressive'

Or "socialist". They should only earn so much, right comrade?

This isn't a lifestyle...this is about keeping things fair ...a coach blabbering his QB who has never started a college game is getting close to 7 figures isn't what college sports should be about or why it was started.

Schools should give a percent of jersey sales etc to players...but really that's it. Maybe $500 a month in season

Maybe not, but that doesn’t mean everyone should get a free pass to do whatever they want. Sticking to the ncaa is one thing, but at least make sure what we’re doing isn’t detrimental to the game .

I think you missed my point comrade...read it again
I think if you made the Title IX argument then the government would be more likely to step in and demand the wealth be shared. I mean the USWNT almost got it done for themselves. The NCAA can’t though. They’re powerless.
