When asked about Pruitt's comment that we were 100 times better this year:

“Their depth, their physicality,” Smart said. “They were thinner at some positions last year. They’ve got more guys. They’re rolling and playing more guys. They’re playing really hard and they play really physical. You look at the games they’ve played this year, they’ve had some self-inflicted wounds. Otherwise, they’re winning or in those games.

“They’ve got a good staff, they’re going to push these kids, and they’re getting them better,” Smart said. “They’ve had a whole week to get better and improve, and I think it shows on tape when you watch them how hard they play, that they’re on the brink of something special.”

I think he knows! I think he knows that we are a threat to his team! He knows what we can do! He is going to see a different Vols team, than in the last 4 weeks. Very 🧐 interesting! He doesn’t look very enthusiastic, but worried and I think he better be!

No coach puts a program down when talking about an upcoming opponent.
He didn't have to say that we were on "the brink of something special" though. He could have said more generically, they've got good coaches, they're getting better, blah, blah, blah, instead he almost echoed a UT recruiting pitch.

The best commentary on Dooley was from Saban.

Smart loathes Pruitt and knows he's going to get the same soft, undisciplined and clueless team that UT has trotted out 3 times this year. He knows it's a cakewalk but he still wants his guys to put in a solid D- effort in order to meet the spread.

**** him! Any HC who campaigns his team’s fanbase to checkerboard an opposing team’s stadium is carnival barking trash imo.
Yes, and delusional with no real world intel. In order to checker even half of Neyland, he'll need 50,000 people, with tickets to the game to drive to Knoxville, coordinate between 50,000 ticket holders the red and white sections etc. The problem isn't just that he's acting stupid, but we have a lot of fans that "Believe" this might just happen, they're actually in a panic, the Chicken Little Syndrome.

I agree it's trashy, but it's coming from UGA fans on social media from what I've seen, not Smart. I agree with the **** Smart either way though, he's the dwags head coach and he has a 7th grade skater haircut.

What if he said what he really wanted to, it would go like this
" Well first of all we're playing probably the worst Tennessee team in my life time. There really isn't any reason we shouldn't hang 70 on them, their secondary is absolute ****. Then you JG, yeah I don't think they would take that kid at West Georgia Military. Overall they're a ****** team and I don't like Jeremy at all nor do I have an ounce of respect for him or his staff. We're coming into Neyland, we're going to checker it with about 50K red and black faithful, oh yeah and we're inviting all of our common recruits to this massacre. Have a nice day and we're looking forward to getting this one out of the way so we can return to conference play against USC jr. "

I hope TN State Police have a plan, I'm sure they do, to handle the 20,000-25,000 extra cars traveling I-75 this Saturday! Or are the 40,000 to 50,000 UGA fans-that somehow got tickets come by bus?

Steve Spurrier pretty much did say stuff like that, and he usually backed it up too.

I cant believe he said all of that with a straight face.....

Only good thing is while he's out dogging Tennessee on the recruiting trail (face it people, they all do), Pruitt can tell the recruit "listen to what he said about Tennessee on camera, do you want to play for someone who lies to you?"
