Kim Caldwell Press Conference 12/11

I know I sound like a broken record, but I continue to be blown away by Kim's forthright approach to interviews. I obviously haven't seen all Div. 1 coaches give interviews, but I can't imagine there is another coach any better at these things than Caldwell is. Maybe some close to as good, but I can't imagine better. I actually look forward to hearing what she has to say because I always feel better informed after hearing her instead of like I wasted my time. 👍🏻👍🏻

Looks like a lot of work on offense for the team and installing some new things. Says all players have improved.

Thanks for posting 12! Wouldn’t you love to be a bug at practice to really see what we are working on and how it all is intended to come together!
I have to say I am a little unclear about how this is all supposed to work but I really, really like our players and staff. Still hurts my heart that Ruby is not a part. Maturing is sometimes a road with many detours.

LSU 43.04% South Carolina 41.26% Missouri 40.38% Alabama 36.84% Vanderbilt 36.60% Arkansas 36.15%
Georgia 35.94% Mississippi state 34.88% Texas 34.45%
Kentucky 31.07% Oklahoma 30.96% Auburn 29.75%
Texas A&M 28.99% Tennessee 28.41% Old Miss 27.54%
Florida Gators dead last 26.53%
Tennessee will have to share basketball to teammates shooting better like Kim Caldwell said in video about getting the ball to teammates who shooting better that night.

Getting easier shots or downhill as some of you all said.
Picking better shots is on players on the floor.
It's up to the coaching staff to get the players to drive to the basket, or pass the ball if a player isn't shooting a percentage of three's that helps a team win .

She has gotten much better. Last season, she was not good at press conferences. She gave short answers, often one-word answers. This year is much better. I wonder if possibly UT hired a media consultant to work with her. It's a high-profile job with a lot of media scrutiny. I think it would make sense.

I think that is a real possibility and some of it might also be just getting more comfortable in the media spotlight.

I didn't mind at all the (few) short answers she gave in her first year, because the questions didn't usually deserve more comment. I found it refreshing that she made it crystal clear that she didn't have time for nonsense. 😅
Are you suggesting we start a thread titled, “The John Adams Clapback Memorial Thread”? 😉🤙🏼🧡

Ya gotta have an NC on your resume to "Bill Bilichek" your press conferences. She has not earned the cred to this point.

The first question after the Stanford game about why she chose to substitute in mass during that game was particularly clueless and deserved the response of, "That's the way we play." Reporters often make me ashamed of my journalism degree from UT!

I actually disagree. She always gave full answers to questions that deserve them. I’ve always enjoyed her interviews including the short answers because she didn’t/doesn’t beat around the bush in how she feels, what she sees, or what she’s thinking. Thats why I’m not super doom and gloom over this season.

That's exactly how I feel about it.
