"Just got the news about Coach Meyer. The SEC & college football are suffering a huge loss. Our thoughts & prayers are with him & his family."

I would almost guarantee that was boilerplate language from a staffer.

Not that Lane is that cold... but... its just so annoyingly PC.

I'm just wondering how ESPN is going to spin that into a Kiffin slam against Urbster.

whatever....it all is a wash at this point. I would expect the same from all coaches in the SEC if this would befall our coaching staff

I'm sure it's sincere. No way is Kiffin happy that Meyer resigned. Kiffin wanted to recruit UT to parity in talent, and then have a chance to match wits with Meyer on a level playing field. Meyer's leaving opens the SEC East for the taking, but Kiffin would have rather beaten Meyer for it than inherit it by default.

As much as I despise florida and meyer, I would never wish illness like that on anyone, to do so shows immaturity and classlessness. I'm sure clk was sincere. I wish urban and his family the best.

There is no getting on the phone to call recruits..this is a dead period. Meyer planned it out with the timing of announcement. The EEs are stuck unless they filed paper work with someone else. And no coach can call them until after New Years. Meyer's last dirty recruiting trick. And we are talking about big choices for some young men. Elam is one of these. No chance we get him. He can only go to FSU or UF. Those are the ones he filed papers with.

Early enrollees can wait until mid January before going to their preferred school. Just look at Brandon Willis.

As far as papers go, I'm pretty sure they can file them at any time before they enroll.

There is no one at the high schools to file it until around Jan 4th. Willis has filed his paper work with UNC and us. Thus he does not have to worry about it. I am not saying it is not possible but would be a crunch. The kid would have to wait until Jan 2nd to get phone calls...then he may want to visit somewhere? Think about it? It is possible but highly unlikely unless it is a school they already filed paperwork with visited etc. And I promise as a public school teacher...school are very very busy start of a semester with registration. Those employees are the same ones that would find and get his transcripts. It is possible but highly unlikely. Elam may go to FSU all others should not even bother to call. Hey if I am wrong would love to be wrong but dont think so.

I feel that Urban's health is not twitter material....too cold and insincere.
