In the post game locker room interview, CLK said he was still looking at all the information regarding the convenience store incident but "if everthing is as it appears then the penalities will be severe....." I think they are all gone, at least for the year, even in Jackson's case.

Kiff spent a lot of time cutting the dead weight from The Fat Man regime. Now he'll have to take care of a few of his own. That's okay... time to get rid of all the cancers in this program -- even if it means 2/3 talented youngsters.

They need to be kicked off the team and out of school permanently! Let them transfer to Memphis - they'll fit in well there!

I take that quote to mean they're all gone. I'm willing to accept that now. I'll hate not being able to see janzen progress through the program, but if he deserves to be gone, pack him up.

I heard that on the radio too, and was thinking the same. The CBS segment where they asked him about it, got a similar response.

It shouldn't even be up to Kiffin to be honest. They committed felonies for God's sake. The University should kick all their asses to the curb.

Still would have like to seen Janzen Jackson as a senior/junior out on the field. He was awesome.

I imagine recruits' parents are watching this situation VERY closely to see how it is handled. Kick em out. We need a no nonsense program

They are accused of felonies. Not quite the same thing.

I've said this in other threads, but IMO the reason it seems to be taking so long for Kiffin to act is the whole thing is too weird to just take at face value. Two guys just randomly decided to use a pellet gun to rob the stoners in the crappy car next to them? The guy who had a gun in his face says he never felt threatened, and offered them a cheeseburger instead of money? One of the bad guys was wearing a team freaking shirt, for chrissakes? The whole thing is just bizarre. I can see why Kiffin and Hamilton might want to let the cops do their thing for a few extra days before bringing the hammer down.

They were IDENTIFIED in person by the victims as being the ones that pulled the GUN and demanded all their money. Frankly it's embarrassing you and others persist in defending these fools.

I think they should be kicked off, but part of a coaches commitment to the kids is they will look after their best interests. So I don't have a problem with kiffin taking his time to make a really important decision. I genuinely think kiffin is a good guy, and trust him to make the best decision for the program

When a victim identifies them he accusses them. When a jury finds them guilty then they are convicted. Big difference.

I'm not defending them. If it went down as the narrative has it, then not only should none of them ever see the inside of a UT locker room again, but they should spend some serious time in jail. I have zero tolerance for gun crime, and I don't want to see anybody who has committed one on the field again representing my alma mater.

All I'm saying is this: the incident was weird. The guy who had a gun pointed in his face has not subsequently acted like a guy who had a gun pointed in his face. ("I never felt threatened." "We didn't have any money, but we told them we had some cheeseburgers.") Guys don't normally just make an impulsive, random decision to rob the guys who happen to be parked next to them in a crappy car at a quickie mart. Something is odd about this whole thing. I wanted Kiffin to stand up in front of the cameras and kick these guys off the team by noon on Thursday too, but the more I've read about it, the more I can see why he and Hamilton have let this thing play out a few days before they act.

If an investigation determines that yes, these guys did go up to some other guys with a fake gun and demand all their money, then yes, throw them in jail and Goodnight Irene. I just believe in Occam's Razor, and Occam says that something about this situation stinks.

Thanks for the link.. I was drawing a big blank on that one.

Occam's razor is a useful tool for just being alive. The simplest explanation for any confusing situation is almost always the correct one. You can save yourself wide swaths of drama if you keep this in mind.

This rule is especially useful in dealing with women.

Sure is! I've lived by this my entire relationship with my wife without realizing it. Always told her the truth, because a lie takes another lie to cover up. before you know it your confused.

Yes. Almost nothing you can do is worth lying to the wife about, because then you have to cover it up, and the drama of the coverup isn't worth whatever you did in the first place. If it is, then you married the wrong chick.

As far as this robbery goes, either we've got the worst, limp-dickest armed robbers in the history of the world on our team, or something else went down between the stoners and the players that wasn't quite just one guy sticking a gun in the other guy's face and demanding all his money. "I never felt like he'd shoot me" and "we offered them cheeseburgers" and "they ought to stay on the football team" leads me to wonder if it might have been the latter. And it's surely reason enough for Kiffin and Hamilton to wait a few days while the cops sort it out before punting these guys forever.
