I know my opinion won't matter much, but I'll share anyway. He's a snake in the grass. No, this is not a diss. I think a lot of fans are underestimating him. I think a bunch of teams are going to be waking around barefoot around Kiffin and he's going to bite their ankles. He's assembled a great staff and a great recruiting class in a short amount of time. The only thing I'd be fearful of as a Vol would be any type of major violations. The only reason I mention this is because he came from USCheat. Other than that, I think you guys made a great hire. He will turn your program around. He made a good point, albeit in a weak manner. Any publicity is good publicity... and Kiffin put you guys out there. The only negative to this is that he has to produce and fast. Radio stations in Clemson are giving him 2 seasons before he is fired... and I can see that if he doesn't win fast.

With the attrition this off season, I wouldn't expect too much this season... 11 players is a lot. I see UGA on the way down, it should be us two fighting it out for the East year in, year out just like the 90's.

I hate that football season is still 100+ days away. It can't get here soon enough! Good luck this upcoming season, guys. Like I've said every year around this time, I really respect your fan base and program. Besides a few idiots (and we all have them), Vol fans are some of the more intelligent when it comes to football, and fun to hang out with on any given day. I secretly root for you guys to do well when we don't play :swoon3:

nice post. What would you do if UT some how beats your gators this year in the swamp. Would the UF campus immediately burst into flames?

Nice post.

No doubt you guys are the team to beat. We dont have much of a chance this year or next but after that I could see the games being really really close.

Good post. I'm not sure about the violations, but anything is possible. Kiffin did open his mouth and anger some coaches which could definitely bite him in the butt, but I like the "us against the world" attitude he is installing in our team. It's the only way to play. CUM installed the same attitude in the program, albeit in a different way, but the same attitude. In football, it is the only mentality to have.

If Kiffin is anywhere near or over .500 this season and in the 8-10 win range in 2010, he will be given the required latitude. It's all about steady improvement.

And agreed that we do all have our idiot fans, Florida isn't really worse than any other team. IMO Bammers have a disproportionate amount, more so than other teams. They are just delusional.

I am not expecting anything great. The true test will be if the fan base, players, etc can keep their heads up cause it seems that alot of people (even non UT fans) are going to be looking for instant success. He will need at least 2 seasons to get his teams to where he wants it...until then, I think we will still see some really good football. I love having our rivariles renewed...

I say season 3 is when we should really see what he's made of. with that being said i hope(but i know diff) that our fan base won't be calling for his head if this year isn't great.

I think I can get behind the gist of what your trying to convey. With the exception of a few in-particulars.

1) As a master of Sun Tzu's The Art of War.He relishes the role being underestimated!

2) He won't be fired in two years, regardless of what Clemson radio says.

3)Secretly a fan of Good ole UF or root for you guys
OH H*LL NO..............................:banghead2:

I told one of my friends after Kiffin was hired that I was both nervous and excited. Under Fulmer the last few years I was just nervous, there was no reason for excitement. I have no idea what's going to happen with the CLK era but it should be interesting and I'm growing more optimistic by the day.

I was in the marching band at UF in 2001. Trust me, I wouldn't be as pissed as that season. I almost went to the bloody Rose Bowl.

by the way UF fan...thank you for not spelling it Keffin or Kiffen, Lame etc...that is annoying as crap
There's no point in coming to a rival board just for disrespect. Now, when it's UT week, I will be here to talk some trash. Until then, I like being able to discuss football civilly with you guys

I was at the 01 LSU game with an orange rose in hand...that was a waste of 20 damn bucks.

Anywho, I think you make a good point about Lane being a snake in the grass. I feel like since the perception is that he is such a bafoon it will put alot of pressure on Richt, Meyer, Saban, Richt ect. and stomp him into the groud. And if he does come out and prove to be a good gameday coach coupled with the recruiting abilities everyones mindset will change real quick.

You also make a good point on the violations, he can not at all do any blatant major violations...I am sure he has brought some NCAA attention to himself with everything and being from USC doesn't hellp in that catagory. This would be a extreme blow to our program....but I highly doubt he would do that, he seems to know the recruiting game like the back of his hand as does his Staff.

Wax and wane. Not only can you go from the top to the bottom in 4 years, you can go from top to bottom in a season, a game, a quarter.
