Kiffin slams Venables

All over the news today. Not sure why you want to stir the pot with the most talked about coach in the land these days and think its not going to possibly be a distraction.
Or will it be motivation?

Meh. I'm no Kiffin fan, but (a) Venables definitely deserved being called out for saying that the losing team (his team) was the better team on the field, and (b) it wasn't much of a call-out, anyway. Kiffin just pointed out Venables said something pretty stupid. And heck, he didn't even use the word 'stupid'.

So it wasn't Kiffin stirring this pot. It was Venables. Kiffin just splashed a little back Venables' way.

Go Vols!

Meh, I don't know why some people just can't seem to be able to take the high road and let some crap just slide. I mean. coaches don't need to be trash talking each other. Lack of maturity.

Like Saban said (paraphrasing).. the scoreboard is what matters at the end. The rest is just chatter. No idea what Venables was thinking.

His KIDS, who he’s responsible for, trailed late, ON THE ROAD, fought hard and came back and won. Then the other adult coach makes a stupid, PUBLIC remark. I thought Kiffin showed forbearance.

Kiffin bragged on Oklahoma after the game and called them a great team with great tradition and a super fan base. Venebles after the game said we were the better team and blew it. Media ask Kiffin about Venebles comments and you could tell it irritated him. I can’t blame Kiffin now, he was complementary after the game and Venebles didn’t have much to say about ole miss. Venables asked for it in my opinion. GBO

Venables looks like he may at any moment go into a rage on the sidelines. Definitely a high motor coach.

What Kiffin should’ve said was, “ if our head coach hadn’t made such dumb decisions, we would’ve beat you worse“

Spurrier said something similar. I think he said something like the best team didn’t always win in our series. Seems after the ‘01 game he said it.

Venables should just compliment the other team on a good game played and move on. No need to make any comparisons with other teams. Focus on your own business, where you need to improve, and get back to work.

I have no problem with what Venables said. I have no problem with what Lane said. It's all theatre anyway. It works. It gives fans something to engage with.

Has Kiffin finally matured? Someone texted me that he's back with his wife and is taking his religion seriously. How old was he when you coached here? I hope this is true.
