Im doing some fact checking for a tv host about Kiffin. He claims that Kiffin said " that the hardest thing at Tennessee is following the NCAA rules" in a tennesseean article. I've been trying to find the article. Did Kiffin really say it?

They were reporting it on the radio in Atlanta yesterday - 680 the fan.

You may be thinking of a Monte interview where he was talking about not having as much time with the players as in the pros...

Closest I can think of to hearing that.

“The hardest part for me has been all the rules, like the 20-hour rule,” said Monte Kiffin, who hadn’t coached in college since 1982 before arriving in Knoxville. “I’m used to just hanging around there, going up there on Saturdays to work out with players, like the new free agents and stuff that want to get some extra work. You can’t do it here.
“Everybody’s the same, but I wish we didn’t have all these rules. Now this is my first year back (in college), so I’m not calling the NCAA and changing all these rules, I don’t think. I don’t think that would go over real big. But I think there’s a lot of rules, and for players that want to really get better, it’s hard.
“I think you’ve got to have rules — I’m for that, all the way — but it’s been a big transition for me.”

I wonder if someone has taken the liberty of forwarding those links to the media for clarification and retraction?

So, in otherwords, that fat Aubie homer Chuck Oliver had a flareup of his foot-in-mouth disease again?

King of College Football my @$$.

I've got no problem with that quote. It's a legitimate statement. It would be tough if you were a newer player trying to catch up to the college level, and you are limited in your time with the coach.

If they really try to twist his words that badly, it will be beyond annoying. Not that it really matters what other fans think of our coach, but still. I guess it would give us some more publicity though.
