Kiffin may be in over his head article

Except that Tennessee fans are actually less forgiving than Raider fans, and he won't have a natural and target-rich foil like Al to play off this time. He will either build an SEC powerhouse in the teeth of more experienced men like Saban and Meyer and Richt and yes, even Nutt, or he will be run out of Knoxville with a vengeance that makes Al's overhead projector seem like a French tickler.

:D

He is following an unpopular coach in Fulmer

I'm really getting alittle fed up with all the media hyping Kiffin and his HC stint with the Raiders. It's like what he did there is basically his resume and that's it. They don't want to talk or mention anything before that. I've heard and read more about his stint with the Raiders than everything he did in college combined.

This made me laugh. Sadly, it made me grit my teeth at the same time because I know there are only two sides of the fence Lane will be living on. One side is full of green grass, hound dog puppies, and flowers, the other side has about 107,000 rabid blue-tick hounds ready to tear him a new a$$hole.

It's based on the fact that Oakland was his only HC experience. You don't hear too many knocks on his time spent at USC b/c most of what you hear is that he was a great recruiter and a pretty good OC, neither of which have anything to do with his HC experience. Take anything the media says with a grain of salt and get ready for tornado that's about to hit town.

I don't see where it was a bad piece. There were a lot of valid points. Fulmer being unpopular is more of a recent thing, but how much does anyone really think this guy knows about CPF over the last 10+ years with him being on the left coast and everything.

He seemed to have put UT on a football elite status and he was correct about the flak that any new coach would get over not producing. No coach will survive having another 5 year run like the one that has just been completed. It is not acceptable and no coach other than CPF could have gotten away with it. He only did because of the NC in 98.

No one can tell me that the team this year played up to their abilities and it was all that they could have done. They were better than what their record says.
