Good article. I disagree though. I think the Vol Nation as a whole was in on the joke. I think its the naysayers now that are finding out what he is about.

He said all the right things about Spurrier, things he clearly believed, and managed a not-so-subtle jab at Florida coach Urban Meyer, who has seemingly become the butt of all Kiffin jokes.

I'm gonna give Griff the benefit of the doubt here, anyone who holds Alabama to 4 first downs in the second half should have everyone's respect.

I agree. But how many blogs have you seen praising Monte? Answer: Zero. I think Griff just can't bring himself to do it after his repeated negative comments toward him. However, this blog was a good one.

And while I'm at it... I am about sick of some of our fans who complain Kiffin doesn't smile enough. If he bites the heads off kittens and punts puppies when he goes home I could give two you know what's.

Great article.

However it seems its more of the "darned if you do, darned if you don't," around here for Griff.

I've said (typed) it before and I'll say (type) it again...Lane Kiffin is Steve Spurrior, circa 1993, the orange and white version.

And as much as I couldn't stand Spurrior for beating the crap out of Fulmer for so many yrs...I honestly understand why so much of the opposition hates Kiffin: they see what's coming in the years to come.
