A day before UT’s final preseason scrimmage, head coach Lane Kiffin released a preliminary depth chart for the season opener against Western Kentucky on Saturday.
Interesting. Some people jumped all over me when I said it appeared Hancock was out performing Warren. According that, Hancock is starting and Warren is backing him up. Hmm...
Nice to see the daily beacon is still up on things intaking a story from UT sports that is several days old (at least it's a good way for young reporters to get writing experience). Also, didn't Kiffin say yesterday that the depth chart would not be finalized until Saturday or something like that?
It looks like the crime log is still the best thing they have going.
$30 worth of copper was stolen from a dumpster at gate 21 of Neyland.
Isn't that the same depth chart info that has been floating around VN for several days now?
There were a ton of articles written several days ago listing it that way. Hancock and Nuke are the starting WRs with Warren, Teague, and Rogers coming off the bench (until Moore and Jone are healthy, at least).
I saw it but I never noticed that Hancock was listed over Warren. It might have been because it was linked from an article about all of the freshman that were going to start. I kind of focused on that. I just assumed Warren was going to start after everyone said how wrong I was about Hancock maybe starting over him. I won't be surprised if Warren takes it from him or players coming back from injury take it from him but people made it out to be like Warren was way better than Hancock and Crompton's go to guy.
It will be interesting to see who stays and who goes from the starting two when Jone and Moore get healthy. I could see either Hancock or Nuke giving up the starting spot to Jones, but perhaps the other holding onto their spot. We'll soon find out who is ready....
I really want to be optimistic about CLK, but I'm worried. His resume isn't all that long... but on the flip side of that - was mark richt? or urban meyers?
