"Former Tennessee Coach Lane Kiffin is confused by Vols athletic director Mike Hamilton's parting comments about him not being a "cultural fit" during his 14-month stay on campus. "I don't think at the end of day that has anything to do with whether you score points or whether you win games. Where you're from? I don't know. That's just my opinion. Is Nick Saban from Alabama? Is Urban Meyer from Florida? Those are two of the best coaches in the country. So I don't think that really means anything."

No Lane he was nicely saying you're a dickhead, and down South we have manners.

Well, Lane, both of those coaches actually embraced the rich traditions of their schools and didn't try to change them into Utah South or Michigan State/LSU south. They realized that part of the "cultural" fit was accepting and promoting the traditions of these schools, and why they are both excellent coaches.

I am tired of this idiot and wish he would just go away really.

Hamilton was saying Kiffin didn't get Tennessee -- and that answer proves he still doesn't.

And that was a perfect answer, KnoxVillain.

He is a media whore and is trying to stay in the spotlight.

The real question is why Hooker and the boys requested the interview in the first place. Maybe this was The Animal's way of saying Dooley won't grant an interview so we'll go ask Kiffin to come on the show? Lame.

IIRC, this may be the first time Lane has said that Meyer is a good coach... especially among the best in the country. I guess now that he no longer has to worry about losing to him he can give the guy a compliment.

Hamilton was talking about his snake oil salesman routine isn't a cultural fit. He's a hustler. Some places that is embraced as you're doing what you have to do to be successful and Hamilton is essentially saying that some people will like that down here, but you're going to make a lot more enemies than friends with that routine in the South. Hamilton had no choice, but to back him while he was here, because it would be real hard to hire a new coach in any sport if you get a reputation for admonishing your current coaches.

Kiffin is just doing all this explaining lately, because he and his assistants have probably been shut down by a hand full of parents and coaches of prospects that he's trying to recruit and now he's trying to sooth things over! If it wasn't for recruiting, he's already stated that he doesn't care who doesn't like him. He's flattered by it!

Yeah-and from a guy who basically said that now that he was at USC he wouldn't have to be on TV all day everyday in order to build buzz around the program. y question for you, Lane-why aren't you following your own promise, douchebag? He can't shut up, can he?

I honestly think a lot of his issues now stem from the fact that we have all gotten over it. He left-we freaked, partly because we believed in him, but more (IMO) because he acted like we were a second class program. Then Dooley comes in and charms everyone to death, solidifies the class (actually makes it better), and now (to paraphrase Roy Williams) we could give a sh%t about Lane Kiffin. I honestly think it bothers him. Good luck with UCLA next year, Lane.

Te cultural ficomment was more about Kiffin's willingness to play fast & loose with the NCAA rules and Kiffin's frustration with our admin reigning him in. He wasn't accustomed to that at USC and is glad to be back to that. He's telling anyone tgat will listen that we are afraid of the NCAA and, as such, aren't committed to winning.

It's not about whether he is nice, cultured or a Southern Gent (whatever that might be).

Honestly, LK could take shots at us, and I'm surprised he hasn't. He's trying to let this die, I think we should do the same.

Now wait a second...Whiffin goes on Jim Rome and takes a shot at UT about how "no one came there to wear that yellow uniform," a few weeks earlier, yet cries foul when he hears Hamilton's comment?!?

Stay classy, o chewer of the foreskin!

This is part of what irritates me and I dont wanna start a new thread so I will just put it here. They only had him on our radio to piss Dooley and hamilton off because Dooley and his staff arent doing interviews and everyone is the media is pissed about it.
On the Sports animal they are trying to drum up fans ire at Dooley with this saying see Kiffy will do an interview and Dooley wont. You know I dont give a rats ass if he ever talks on Sports Animal if he recruits well and wins games. Not to you ego-maniacs in the media get over it you freaking cry babies.

Thats all and thank you for reading.
