There was a famous case we studied in Psychology where an accident occurred during his circumcision.... the doctors removed the male organs and the family raised the child as a girl... eventually it caught up to them.

Not quite the same thing, but it fits in the discussion of psych and the connection between emotional sexuality and physical.

If memory serves me correct the individual lived as a female growing up and in his adult life he lived as a man. The trauma he went through in the end was too much and he took his own life. That is the case that has kept these kinds of procedures from going mainstream. I hate to see that it is being done again. It should be left to them as adults to figure these things out for themselves when they are mature enough to handle all the implications that come with it.

That's definitely the one... although I think the death of his twin had a good bit of bearing on his suicide as well.

I do remember the twin component there. He had suicidal tendencies for a while if I remember correctly, his brothers death was the straw as they say.
