Any news on the Kicker spot? I know people joke about it, but with a gigantic "?" there, I feel really uneasy. Let's not forget the huge FG's that have won it in close ones over the years.

No need to feel uneasy. Colquitt was booming 50 yarders in practice(along with kicking it deep and punting) and Lincoln has really come a long long way. Cunningham looks to be a pretty good punter as well.

And he has been hitting them with consistency.

If he could come and do his thing in 2007. Booming 50 yard + punts and 50 yard + FG's, he'd up his brand for the pros, BIG TIME.

I've never kicked or do I know the first thing about kicking, but would punting and kicking FG's and PAT's put a lot of strain on a kicker throughout the season to where he is getting tired towards the end?

I would guess not, but as I said I'm ignorant in the topic.

I'd say it can take it's toll. Hopefully we won't need him kicking anything more than PATs.

Maybe let Lincoln kick PAT's only. Wonder if that is considered a burn in Kicker Culture.

We need someone with a very big leg to handle kickoffs. With the way UT covers returns, we need to have as many touchbacks as humanly possible.

The Falcons started this year with one guy handling all the kicking duties -- punting, kicking, kicking off. It lasted two games before he missed a couple and they brought in Mort Anderson.

In the pros, the big concern would be not having any backup if the guy gets hurt. That's obviously not a problem in college where you can have a couple of guys on the roster. I can't see a reason not to do it, if he's the best man at everything.

You took my example from me.

Colquitt has looked very good and Lincoln has gotten consistently better as spring practice went on.
