It’s the exact same as it’s always been- you just hear about it now because it’s legal and there are some eye popping numbers. But little has changed.I'm glad he's coming here but recruiting just isn't the same. It's who has the most money. Don't need recruiters anymore, just accountants.
Extremely rare word and archaic. People say idiotic today. But technically you’re right. It’s like saying comethErrr….

You seem to confuse “plays for a while in the NFL” with “dominates the NFL.” Morgan and maybe Miller could be argued to have dominated the NFL. Patterson was a fantastic returner but was not a good receiver, so much so that he was converted to running back.Stanley Morgan
Tim McGee
Anthony Miller
Carl Pickens
Alvin Harper
Donte Stallworth
Cordarelle Patterson
They would all like a word
It’s not the same because you have to recruit them every year. The portal is what changes things. It’s the exact same as it’s always been- you just hear about it now because it’s legal and there are some eye popping numbers. But little has changed.
Remember, in 1979 Oklahoma had a higher payroll than the Dallas Cowboys.
Now the money may be more, and more kids are getting a deal that’s better than a new car and a hundred fifty grand (going rate for a left tackle in 1991), but you still gotta recruit like crazy- in fact, now more than ever.
There is more reason than ever to be excited - we haven’t been doing this well since Coach Gardner and the Big Fisherman were crushing it in the 90’s!!
Patterson certainly dominated as a returner. You seem to confuse “plays for a while in the NFL” with “dominates the NFL.” Morgan and maybe Miller could be argued to have dominated the NFL. Pickens was legit too. We aren’t going to put out more receivers than OSU or LSU thoughCarl Pickens was a repeat Pro bowler with the Cincinnati Bengals. 2nd team All Pro as well which is a higher honor. Didnt need to look it up, because I watched him play. He was dominant at the NFL level as a top 4 WR in the league for a couple years. Had a good career.
Some of our recent WRs have played well in the league but certainly not been dominant. We will have 3 different 5* WRs next year in that room....and another handful that were top150 players out of HS. We just need to hang on to everyone and we will put several really good WRs in the NFL over the next 4 years. Perhaps more than any other school.
No it isn't. There's always been money under the table but not 20M a year under the table. It’s the exact same as it’s always been- you just hear about it now because it’s legal and there are some eye popping numbers. But little has changed.
