Key and Jackson turned the game .....

Key's comeback has been so interesting and so unexpected bc at one point about a month or so ago she was barely playing and literally struggling to run the floor 2 or 3 times. I admit I thought it would never happen. But all of the sudden she turned the corner and has been better and better every game. TK changes everything just by her presence on D, just like RJ changes everything with her offensive presence. So, so happy for TK.

Key definitely looked 10X better than she did early last month. Getting up and down the court much better.
I'm going to say Kellie's patience with Key's comeback has been very impressive. Alot of coaches would have given up. Hopefully Kellie's reward will be TK's continued positive contribution.

Is Key working on another degree? If so, she could benefit academically and use the extra year to prepare for the WNBA if that is her goal.
I think players have to be making progress toward a degree to be eligible (except at LSU of course). TK coming back next year makes alot of sense. Maybe she can leave w 2 masters like Jordan Walker.

around in 2nd half.Key had more energy and her blocks really helped the cause in the 3rd quarter .Now she needs to get more in game shape and the team really needs to build off the 2nd half tonite.....
Shoot 50% from the field and you will win most games. Of course the large number of turnovers negate some of the good shooting. 1-0 in sec.

I was Stat checking and 22 turnovers to there 6. So they received 16 more possessions due our sloppy, unawareness of ball security. 7 by our makeshift pg. This has been going on in all of Kellies teams. So what is the fix? Do most of these occur during be pressed? Occur when guards let themselves get trapped in corner or on sideline? It's not amnesia on coaching staff seeing the problem. Oops forgot one. Trying to force passes to the inside with poor technique. Ok over and out.

Was very happy to see Key getting up and down the court as well as she did. I had my concern about that being the case, but it appears she is beginning to round into shape. Her defense last night was crucial to the win.

Teams that play virtually four guards will give us trouble like that and the turnovers are mostly bad passes or failure to be able to catch a pass. We had 23 turnovers to their six, but only 24 missed shots to their 52 so not the way you want to play it worked this time.

If this team played all the time the way they played in the second half of this game, they would be ranked in the top 15 or better. I do not know what flipped the switch but KJH needs to figure it out. Whatever she said at halftime needs to be repeated over and over again. This team had more energy than they have had in awhile.

Wynn needs to slow down. Some times she looks like a bb on a four lane highway in the middle of rush hour. I give credit to her, she is not afraid to challenge the trees in the paint. However, it is a work in progress that needs to be ironed out.

Did you see the Liberty game? They had that energy that whole game, used it to seal the deal early. I was disappointed they lost that energy so completely the first half but think alot of that was due to Auburn's chaos style. And glad to see that energy rev up big the second half. Gotta find a way to keep that going.

To me this game was different than the energy they had against Liberty. Auburn, in my opinion is a more athletic team with better players than Liberty. However, in the second half the LVS kept them under control with their defense and just out hustled Auburn. Both were good wins and hopefully we can continue to improve the rest of the way.

My take is that when the opposition puts pressure on at a high level it speeds up the play of Lady Vols and they become very, very careless with ball security . Of course that is the purpose of high pressure defense but good coaching over time should really solve that problem but it has recurred time after time these last several years. The key slow down and be fast at the same time ,ie break the press and attack under control....make good decisions when passing the ball .

If you had said they would have 22 TO's prior to this game I would have considered it a loss. Cudos to them for overcoming that. Agree, it needs to be fixed but it will not be, its apparently just an acceptable part of the game with Kellie.

Key played most of the Second half last night and Auburn was only able to shoot 25% in the Second half. Their coaching staff said they stopped being aggressive to the rim in the second half and that was the turning point. Just Key's presence makes everyone rethink themselves about trying to get to the rim on offense. Those 3 blocks last night were nice to see, but also how she changed the mentality of Auburn's attack on offense. She makes a huge difference. I will say this, If Pucket doesn't start producing, the coaching staff needs to maybe play Stiplin a little more at the 4 spot even with Tamari in the game. Karolyn has been and continues to be a bright spot for this team offensively and on the glass.
