Kevin Steele for LB Coach?

Probably not going to happen but it would certainly not be a bad thing. The man's reputation is a little off right now, but I am sure he would make some waves as a position coach.

If we could pull that one off, we'd be very lucky and turn a really good coach staff into a great one. IMHO

Steele is an awesome recruiter...they have pulled down 3-4 Top 10 classes at Clemson in a row, including arguably the #1 class last year.

Let's hope so, he is a terrific recruiter and a good defensive mind despite what happen at the Bowl game. If he wanted the job he could really be a great addition to Dooley's staff. Additionally, being a former player at UT is icing on the cake. Go Vols.

Foolish. You want coaches that aspire to better themselves.

Aspiring to better themselves is one thing. Taking a huge demotion in both position and pay is another. No way he does either. He won't take less than a DC job.

He's unemployed. He had a disasterous outting in his last game, and his alma mater has an opening. Oh yeah, and Hart is opening up the checkbook. Sounds like a win win to me.

I disagree. I think its a real possibility.

I agree. Kevin would be a great addition to the staff both on the field and out in the field as a recruiter.

I was wondering if Kevin was on Derek Dooley's mind in the press conference when he stated that he would not discuss the two open slots....meaning- he is working on a solid hire and wants to keep it private until a hire is made.

I love how Dooley works in private. He took a liberty to chide the media once again.

Then he will remain unemployed, at least in a major D-1 conference. He needs several years to redeem himself after that embarrassment against WVU.

He is damaged goods as a DC with the year he had and the medical issue rumors. He will not get a DC at a BCS IMO and will have to take a position job IMO. The connections he has to this school and staff tells me he is very much in play to come here.

Very nice conclusion, it is nice to read a logical opinion on this site as recently Volnation has become littered with those that don't exercise a lot of discretion in regards to what they post here.
