Correct. "Tennessee has added former Tennessee linebacker Kevin Simon to its staff as the director of player development.

Simon, like Pruitt, is a no-nonsense football personality with several years of experience as an NFL scout with the Dallas Cowboys and, most recently, Atlanta Falcons. Simon was the top-rated defensive player in the nation coming out of California when he signed with the Vols, overcoming two serious knee injuries to anchor a top-10 defense at Tennessee.

Fulmer has been involved, but ultimately left much of the hiring and staff model up to Pruitt’s discretion.

Some thoughts:

Kevin Simon was a number 1 recruit and came from California to do it. That story will resonate with all 5-star players, particularly those from far away.

Lane Kiffin ran him off immediately when he came into town. Fulmer had hired Simon as a GA. This has been ten years in the making. Welcome home, Kevin!
