Kentucky lost again

You wonder if Kentucky is ready to move on from Cal. He hasn't been doing much with their talent in the last few years.
He's got a sick recruiting class coming in. Can't deny the talent that goes thru Lexington, but there's just so much turnover. Hard to recruit enough talent to overcome a lack of maturity and experience.

That’s the way he recruits so he has nobody to blame but himself.

He flat out got out coached last night by Izzo.

They have plenty of experience, this year, though. Tshiebwe, Toppin, Wheeler, Collins, Ware...those guys are all in their 2nd seasons with UK. Fredrick, too, though he didn't play, last year. Reeves is in his first year, but is a seasoned transfer.

Many people probably don't realize it, but UK has a ton of seniors on their team. Tshiebwe, Toppin, Wheeler, Reeves and Fredrick are all seniors. In fact, Cason Wallace and Chris Livingston were the only freshmen to play significant minutes, last night. You could argue that UK is one of the most experienced teams in the SEC, and maybe the country in terms of P6 schools. Last night, they started 2 SRs, a JR, and 2 FR, and Tshiebwe didn't start in his first game back. He likely takes back his starting spot at some point replacing Livingston or Ware.

Izzo completely outcoached Cal. But Cal isn’t going anywhere. They have 4 of the top overall 8 players coming in next year. It is arguably his greatest recruiting class ever. And that’s saying a lot. Plus some of this year’s guys will return. If he wants to get another natty his window is this year or next. Once this year’s team figures out lineups and rotations, they’ll be sick. I dread playing them after the Colorado debacle.

Cal won’t win another National Title.

Cal's final four teams are marked by not just NBA players. They generally are MVP/All-NBA first team/All-Star level NBA players. Run of the mill 18/5/5 NBA players are usually not enough for him.

When Fredrick and Reeves shoot like that from 3 (3-13), UK won’t beat many good teams. They are the only real consistent shooters. Tshiebwe had 20 and 15, and they lost by 16.
