He was obviously suspended for the bowl game for academics.

Wasn't this also his issue at FSU? This does not seem good for this young man. Fortunately we have a lot of WRs ready to contribute (Moore, Jones, possibly Paige?)

Yeah O'Neal seems to be a complete bust. I dont see him beating out the recievers we have now if he cant even learn the plays.

I missed the boat on O'Neal. IIRC, I said he'd make us forget Meachem. Ouch.

I think O'Neal is going to be a pleasant surprise for the 2008 Vols offense.

He spent the entire season working with the 2nd and 3rd team offense, and it gave him an opportunity to develop a chemistry with Crompton. I think that'll pay off.

I'm probably wrong about that, but I'm sticking to it until next fall.

Desperation disguised as hope? :)

I don't think you are the only one that had high hopes that O'Neal would be a great receiver for UT. I for one did and was constantly looking for him come on strong but alas that didn't happen. Maybe next year will be the break out year for him.

I'd be willing to bet he caught more passes from NS and BJC than he caught from JC.

Maybe he'll have a great year next year... he better get it together pretty quick though.

I just worry that he won't be able to keep the grades up to even stay in school...much less learn the playbook.

Let's face it. Some kids don't want to be, nor deserve to be in an institute of higher learning. They want to play ball. There is no minor league football a high school grad can go to. It's not good for the player. It's even worse for the kid who wants to be in class learning.

Dont hold your breath. He doesnt have the character to become a good SEC WR.

Are you serious? When we put him in the game he appears as if he has never played organized football before.

Not sure who he was talking about since the thread is about KO but he quoted a post about GJ. Either way it just doesn't make sense.

Unfortuantely, character has nothing to do with being a good SEC WR. You cant tell me that today's "good" SEC recievers all have a good character...

You obviously have a much more restrictive definition of character than I do. O'Neal has all the physical attributes to be a good SEC WR. However, he does not have the work ethic, dedication, willingness, and humility to utilize that physical talent. That is what I mean by him not having the character necessary.

You forgot to add "Brain".

If they ever decide to get him the ball. We have a knack for keeping the ball out of the playmakers hands

Cut never had a problem with it before this year... I wonder what gives? GJ is a solid playmaker... Im sure :crossfingers: the next OC will recognize that as much as we do.
