Kelsey Pope?? Does Heupel need to look at getting a new WRs coach?

Martinez? Really?
Yeah, bpalmer.
Don't get me wrong, I am not placing all of the disappointment on him, but there are holes in the defensive backs play also.
The choice for him is probably more personal than is merit (and I accept that) and I do tend to be more critical of him and his unit than I probably should be. The reason for that is because he has had some really good talent that always seems to **** the bed on a regular basis. That might be all on the player....or it might be player and coaching.

You’re free to have an opinion. I just think our DBs are playing extremely well this year, most of whom are 1st year players in our system, that signifies good coaching IMO

I can't argue that point and you aren't wrong. I think all these young guys in the backfield have a trajectory that is pointing up. I also think that is because of their talent. I hope the coaching matches that. That is the part I am always on the fence with regarding Martinez.

Hell YES Halze and POPE first. The only players POPE has had worth a damn were all brought here By PRUITT. Since we do not have a single WR that can play when it is showtime and be consistent. You can not blame the young guy in #8 for every problem. The WR room is a complete failure. The TE room is superior

I'm surprised at our WRs inability to separate and make explosive plays. It appears that Heup is so confident in Sampson that he wants to run the ball more, but you've got to mix it up and throw the ball downfield too. TE's looked great. Nico played hard. Just didn't get any pressure on Beck which allowed him to play his best game of the year against us. Time to focus on the last two games and hope we get some help to make the CFP.

McCoy had a rough game; thought Gibson was good last night. McMurry also was decent. Our coverage on the TEs or lack there of was the issue. All of that though is secondary to the lack of pressure. Pressure up front is what allows secondary to do its job. Eventually players get open.
