Kelly's 2nd int vs OK

Looked like a good pick to me. I'd rather he make sure he catch the ball than try to make too much happen and miss the INT.

Haven't seen it in a while, but I got the sense he had to dive a little for it.

It's the offenses' job to not go backwards on the next play. Even if we don't gain a yard, we can try a field goal. Reminds me of playing Florida last year.

Been noticing that Wolf catches and drops to the ground a lot too

Only when the 6-6 guy has to jump more than a foot in the air to catch the ball. He runs fine with the ball. Looks like a typical TE. A really good one for that matter.

Nope......he didnt have to leave his feet. Great int but missed opportunity. Ball was right to his hands

Kristi it's ok to look and see missed opportunities rather it's offense or defense or coaching.

Oh, there were plenty of missed opportunities. Like Ellis not catching the TD pass and putting the game away. Like Hurd dropping the ball and taking us out of scoring range. Like the DL not tackling or Jumper committing costly penalties. Or Dobbs forcing the throw in OT when he had time and another down. We should have won the game, and there were missed opportunities, but Kelly securing a pick was not one of them in my opinion. The ball was fast and to his side. He reacted and caught it a little behind him.

he fell down for no reason. Missed an opportunity for pick 6. 3rd qt with 37 secs to go

My complaint is more the first play we did afterwards was fumble and lose 12 yards on a play that somehow miraculously wasn't recovered and returned by the 4 OU players between Hurd and the ball.

I brought that play up as well. If the pass is about 6 inches higher it's a pick 6 easy!

I can't blame the kid for falling to his knees because it was a reactionary play and he had to bend and reach slightly. One of those things.

...of all the plays in that game to lament afterwards, I don't see why that one sticks out. At least he did catch the damn ball.

Well after watching about 5 mins of the 3rd qt on my lunch break I happened to see that he clearly caught the ball....it was right to him. Also noticed he didnt have to leave his feet. So I found it to be another missed opportunity for points.

Not putting all blame on him. I just noticed he didnt have to leave his feet and I believe that's a pick 6 more than not. My observation on that play

I didn't mean to imply you were blaming him. Sorry about that. It was my observation as well. He "could" have taken it to the house. He certainly would have had the pass been a little higher. :good!:

I thought the same thing watching the game live as well as watching the replay. I'm glad he made the play but it's one of the many plays that would have won the game for us.

I thought this was a thread about UT's next great coach's second job interview after the Oklahoma game.

The key to me was K-Mac with the pressure. It was a quick pass but Homer Simpson was backing up away from the big giy. McKenzie & Tuttle will be unblockable in the near future.

You started a thread for this? To disparage one of our players who just made an interception--his second of the game? This is a candidate for worst thread of all time.

How many times have seen a player miss an interview because he was thinking of scoring instead of securing the catch. It is like a player trying to scoop up a fumble instead of simply falling on it. There is no real football coach in America that would criticize Kelly on that play. Just goes to show that posting on a message board required no football knowledge whatsoever.
