Thompson played well at times. Sotell could be inconsistent and turnover prone, but also had good games and lots of starting experience with two years left. Hate to see them go, but frees up roster
space.

As you point out, Vincent has potential but was hampered by injuries.

Looks like Kellie just picked up a solid portal addition: Coach Kellie Harper made her first portal addition of the season in the form of guard McKenzie Mathurin. Originally from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Mathurin spent one year at Michigan before entering the transfer portal. She is currently listed at 5-foot-10 and will have three years of eligibility remaining. McKenzie Mathurin Out of Broken Arrow High School, Mathurin, a McDonald’s All-American game nominee, was considered by 247 Sports the No. 35 overall player in the nation in the Class of 2025 and a four-star prospect. She received a bevy of other power-program offers, including NCAA Tournament teams such as Alabama and Nebraska, and had a final list of Baylor, North Carolina, NC State, Oklahoma, Oregon and Ole Miss. In fact, she received an offer from Mizzou back in the summer of 2024, but never seriously considered Columbia (until now).

It all started falling apart when Jordan Reisma got hurt.
She set some screen for the Missouri guards bringing the ball up the court against the press. Making the other team defense watch for Jordan Reisma set screen for the Missouri ball handlers get some space.

White Reisma out the paint was open more forced Missouri played more zone. Grace Slaughter big guard had battle the other teams bigs and be the leading scorer on offense.
Seem to me that took toll on Slaughter seems like offense production was harder to come by more defense from key on her more. And Grace Slaughter in opinion her energy level getting up and down the court slowed down from battling the trees.

Jordan Reisma never did get back 100% after Missouri winning streak last two wins Texas A&M Mississippi state.
Without a big the defense started guarding the three pointers more closely. Because there was no Missouri big to threaten the basketball for close buckets. Which made it harder on the guards like Chole

Chole Sotell lead the team in steals and has smooth shot.
She may be from Connecticut but some team going to get a good guard.

Shannon Dowell had miss few games with a injury
Plus after coming back Shannon was limited in practice.

Vicent and Thompson where recovery from injuries last year had some this year to. Same for Smith.
Tyler had some injuries to this year.
And the three others who red shirted.

Missouri women's basketball team matched a article from a Missouri site covering the tigers when he called them rag tag bunch.

At most 10 players available and sometimes less.

But I still enjoy tigers battling this season and a few less injuries the tigers would have made the NCAA tournament they finished with net of 63,

Looks like Kellie just landed another top-level point guard. Ranked Number 42 out of high school with 4 other D-1 players on her high school team that won its 9th straight state championship and had 139 game winning streak when she graduated. Nevaeh Caffey (Point Guard, Indiana): A 5'10" Missouri native who committed on April 12. She started all 32 games as a freshman for the Hoosiers, averaging 8.5 points and providing a reliable playmaking presence in the backcourt. She is now pretty deep in the Pg position, with Avery Kronki returning and Natalie Hodge coming in as a top 100 freshman point guard. She picks up some size and experience in the post and she will most likely get her 5th team to the NCAA tournament this year and probably move way up the SEC rankings in year 2. Right now she does have 2 6-4 post players and a 6-3 PF coming in the freshman class, but freshmen take a while, especially in the 4 and 5 spots. She needs to land a high-level P-4 post, and Missouri will be solid this upcoming year. I think they are actively recruiting Mallory Miller and Gracie Merkle out of the Big 12 and Big 10.

I agree with Dak's assessment of Kelli's roster-building. Mizzou recruiters putting in the work!

Merkle would be a huge get. Only one year left but played well against tough competition (around 70%, 19 ppg, strong rebounder, doesn't foul out). 6'6" is a presence in the middle.

Miller is also a good player, but Merkle is the prize to seek imo

Merkle would be a good fit for Kellie
