he cant enroll in the spring... the only transfer that could of was garnder minshew if we got him to transfer in....sooo

he had less per attempt than 9 sec qbs.. just saying.

Kellers per isn't high either but hes a pocket passer.. jg is not.. we no longer need a running qb ( JG is dual threat QB)

You act like he was on a reality show. He was sitting on the sideline and Herbie INTERPRETED the expression on his face and MILLIONS went with it as a “fit”. I didn’t see any throwing equipment or mouthing obscenities. Our threshold in our reactionary social media world has gone haywire. :scare:

They are both pro style qbs that can move. JG is not a spread qb.

Chryst will be a back up.

He can't pass as well as JG. Not as accurate. Throws shorter passes. Won't be here until fall.

That adds up to backup.

Anyone that thinks a qb that completed 54% and coming in the fall is going to beat the guy who was better than them as a freshman, and there during the spring has lost touch with reality.

He had a better season passing the ball. That can't be disputed. It is literally a fact.

That is with Chryst having the better team and facing weaker competition.

Jr-78/144 54.2%

Fr 86/139 61.9%

Jr 962 yds 6.7 ypa
Fr 997 7.2 ypa

Jr- 123.1 qb rating
Fr- 128.3 qb rating

Both had 2/1 td int ratio. No doubt JG was better as a fr than he was as a jr.

You need some good competition at qb to push JG. This kid is at least an above average qb by his stats.

I thought I'd get intelligent conversation here.

You mean to tell me that a Senior QB with a winning record as a starter at a big name program and NFL pedigree is gonna come in and be a backup to a Sophomore who was atrocious and had a 1-6 overall record?

Not to mention the Sophomore with a 1-6 record is a spread QB and we're switching to a traditional offense and the Senior is a traditional QB.

Maybe. I for one one think it will either be Chryst or Shrout who wins the starting job. Probably Chryst, but if you have watched Shrout's highlights, he is pretty impressive. Can't like those interception numbers though.

Primary reason for this signing; to show future recruits the size, type and intellect of the QB's we want at UT. I like JG, but unless his leadership style changes, he will have problems with this coaching staff. Neither of our 3 QB's showed what Dobbs and Manning showed. Helton, Weinke, and Pruitt want a QB that can lead!

Anyone with eyes see they are both pro style qbs that can move.

Sam Darnold was a Dual threat and Dobbs was a pro style using the same sites.
