From everything I’ve heard and read, he’s not comfortable with our lack of depth at the position more than anything else. Not that Chryst won’t come in and compete to start, but when asked pretty much every insider and media member who covers the program refers to Chryst as depth and competing vs McBride for depth rather than vs JG to start.

Man This man did not transfer to Tennessee on his last year of eligibility to be a back up. He will be competing for a Starting Job. If he was coming here to be a back up he could have stayed a Stanford. He will be the starter week one imo. Trust me..This a new offense so every Qb on this roster is on even playing field. Im glad he brought in a new qb kinda spice things up for Camp.

I wonder if the forerunners of Kirk Herbstreit at Turner Sports had showed Heath Shuler seething on the sidelines behind Andy Kelly, if that would have affected his reputation? I don’t want my backup QB happy as a lark. I want him visually emoting that he’s better than the guy on the field and wanting out on the field. I wish my 19 year old’s “fits” were of the competitive variety.

I never saw it from JG..small flashes here and there..but im not sure he will ever put it together like we expect him too.... his accuracy is an issue.. kid can throw 100 mph but cant hit a garage door.. this is Kellers spot to lose IMO and he's not even on campus till summer

Not correct or he would be here for the spring.

JG's accuracy is a problem at 62%, 65% vs SEC teams? And the answer is to bring a qb less accurate with a better team and worse competition?

There is a right time and place for everything. Doing the “look at me” tantrum in front of a million people probably not the right place or time. Kicking your competition’s butts at practice and on game day, the right time and place.

I like JG, and believe he has good potential with his abilities, and hopefully our new staff helps him. The thing I’m most concerned about with him is his field presence. It’s like you could see the fear in his eyes last year. I’m hoping it was just due to knowing our oline was gonna get blown up, and he had only a few seconds to save himself. He just looked scared.
