Well he is terrible at football. Nobody expected another Ward right out of the gate but we didn’t have to go to the bottom with no mr personality Keisling either. GBO!!!

Bob does a lot better job at Basketball than Football - not sure what the disconnect there is between the two.
Maybe as the Heupel offense gets faster and becomes more Basketball like, Bob gets better ???

Seriously though, I just think Bob enjoys Basketball more than Football and it comes through in his broadcasting.
As much as we rail on Bob, there are worse radio Football guys out there.

As much as i hate Kentucky i would trade Bob Kesling for the Kentucky football play by play guy Tom Leach.

He is better at basketball, if he was close to as good in football as he is in basketball I wouldn’t complain. I think he has problems seeing the field, he consistently gets down and distance wrong and often doesn’t seem engaged with the game very well. Again not expecting the guy following Ward to be Ward but Keisling has had enough time doing the honor of football. It will be refreshing to get another voice, one that loves the Vols and can call and get into the action and engage with his audience. GBO

Exactly, was watching the SEC network show on all the great SEC announcers. All of them were Homers. Like they said all your great ones were homers. You need your announcer to be a little bias in SEC football, and also not afraid to be disgusted with them at the same time. Munson was a Homer but he would gripe about their performance as well. The audience wants to feel like your one of them. Bob goes out of his way to stay neutral and be all PC. No fan base wants that. I want a announcer who is engaged with the fans and tries to paint the picture for his fans. Not just blandly and blindly calling the game, you cannot fake genuine love for what your doing. You either have it or you don’t. GBO!!!!

I like Kessling, I guess. I’ve listened to him most of my life, but he’s really not very good at calling football games. I left work Saturday at 1600, turned in the radio, listened to the broadcast for 15 minutes to learn we were down by 10. Every time I have to listen to a game and later watch highlights, I realize that the weak visuals painted by Bob are not telling of the true story.
