Moss spent this past season at Kansas State after transferring from West Georgia. In his lone season as a Wildcat, Moss recorded 41 tackles, five TFL, three pass deflections, two interceptions, and one sack.

The West Point, GA native played in all 12 of Kansas State‘s games this season. His best game came in the Wildcats’ opener against Iowa State in Dublin, as he recorded four tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble.

One to watch, per AP

With the Vols new DC. It would be nice to have three or four guys transfer from Penn St to the Vols to help run his defense.

The Vols top priority needs to be at least 3 or 4 big time hefty DTs and round it out with a couple of guys that can run at LB and a couple of secondary players. Until the Vols get MUCH better up front, it won't much matter who is in the secondary.

There is NO inside threat on the defensive line for pass rush or run defense. With no double teams on the interior there is basically no edge threat. Getting whipped one on one in the trenches is not only embarrassing to watch, it's how they are legitimately losing games they could otherwise win. With opponents getting to the second level in the running game, or on quarterback runs, they are just simply out running Tennessee's slow linebacker corp.

Tennessee has a "group of 5" talent level and depth interior defensive line at best. It's actually astonishing the lack of depth and talent in the interior defense. It's still boggles my mind how Tennessee is in this position or how they let themselves get in this position. They have to do a much better job recruiting guys that can actually play this position instead of trying to move guys and develop them at these positions. There has been a trend of players being lazy and continuously getting hurt and helped off the field the past couple of years. It should not be hard to bring in some natural big ugly defensive tackles to the University of Tennessee.

We were elite for 23 and 24. We had some injuries and lack of depth this past year, but yeah strange how small they are overall.

We didn't address it in the portal and that hurt us big time. We got Schell and who knows if he will ever be ready.

There is upside on the roster at least. a senior Daevin Hobbs, Nate going into his fourth year, Campbell and Utley should end up being good. Who knows with Charles House.

DT is almost essential to a good defense though. This season proved that.

Sounds like Florida is also involved here. Floridas staff from Tulane wanted him when he entered the portal last year as well

They have actually pretty good talent it’s just been acquired within the past 12 months.
Its still young.

You’re going off a bunch of injured vets and dudes that were in HS this year and last year.

That’s on Banks for not getting transfer portal DTs last year.

And/or Ohio State. Either way, they would have an accelerated grasp of the new scheme and be able to mentor their new teammates. Furthermore, let us not forget the reverse engineering application that Knowles can bring to Tennessee's offense, notably through explaining how OSU game-planned Heupel's scheme.

Believe the staff is fully aware how OSU game planned them. Which is in part what motivated them to evolve on offense last offseason.

i agree

this entire website was begging for DTs from the portal this time last yr and they just had no real interest in adding. I never understood it. Even Vandy had a DL twice the size of ours with better numbers in terms of depth. We were rolling 290lb interior players out there all yr which was so dumb.
