Visiting this weekend (Fri&Sat) and will be on commitment watch if all goes well.

His stats and experience at Kansas are impressive. He would be fighting for LG spot but versatile to play T with potential Injury shuffles in season.

Has played 1,024 snaps in 3 years at Kansas

LT - 4
LG - 458
RG - 419
RT - 138

Has given up 2 sacks, 2 hits, 20 hurries, & 24 pressures on those 1,024 snaps.

Let’s close this one by Sunday!!

This is the kind or portal guy that I figured we'd go for instead of the LSU entry. Only negative is he has but one year remaining? Still, I'll take a versatile dude like this....if he can play.

I’m not giving up due to our connection with Billy High and what I know we are willing to pay to shore up RT.

I think one year is enough. We have a lot of inexperienced young talent on the squad. One year should be enough to groom that young talent into very good players. That would also help keep those young players at Tennessee instead of entering the portal.

I tend to wonder how much of that young talent is legit and ready? With the QBs we appear to be lining up, it's critical that we don't end up in a situation like we had this past season. Always load up on both lines of scrimmage, but especially on the OL. If it's one year only for the right guy, so be it, but if they're relatively close in ability, I'll take the multiple year dude every time. We lose a ton after next season and I really doubt we've hit on all our upcoming prospects so well that we can afford to not always be looking to upgrade and build depth from the portal. Those guys are more mature and strong to boot. I don't think we can ever have too many options at OL.

I think Sham, Lang and Bussell can be ready to be rotational and get some snaps in 2024 but we'd like to not have to rely on any for major minutes till 2025.

I think they hope 1-2 of the guys we just signed can be in position to help in 2025 as well. Probably Satterwhite/Warren most likely to help early from that group.

So getting a couple guys right now who can be SR's in 2025 to pair with those 5 young guys would be huge. Also depending on how all come along in 2024 we could also be back in portal after 24 season to add a couple more older guys as stop gaps.

Unfortunately not sure any of Grant, Johnson or Reddick will ever get there but maybe 1 of them can have a late jump like a Lane/Lampley type and be quality depth their final year or so.

We have the coaching that can develop players. Look at last years O line and there were walk-ons who were starting. I realize he recruited some "projects' who needed to gain weigh to be ready for SEC play. Man will have two years to gain the weigh and learn the techniques to play. However, This year's O line recruiting seems to be bigger and potentially better than his first year O line recruits.

This is my hope/belief, too. We might build the roster to the point of bringing kids along and they'll just step into the lineup when it's their time, but we aren't ready yet. And with this being the ever so brief Nico era, we can't hope or wait. We need solid pieces on the OL now not 2-3 years down the line.
