I know he wasn't Volnation's favorite player by any stretch, but he put the Orange on for our boys and was sent out by his team mates on this note. He didn't get to play much, and his team mates, except Josh Richardson and Stokes, played like absolute crap. Skylar might not have been the most physically gifted, but the dude bled orange. I'll never forget the story about him, 2 years ago I believe, coming into the gym on Christmas day and shooting 3's to practice. I don't think anyone in Volnation will ever forget that 3 that he hit against Kansas after everyone got suspended. Work ethic like his is seriously lacking on this team it seems, and I, for 1, am going to miss having a Civil War General on the court.

GBO!

Could have gone without saying that.

Good luck Skylar and thanks for being a Vol! Will always remember the 3 to beat Kansas! VFL.

I couldn't agree more!
Thank you, Skylar, for the role model you have been to my son over these past four years . I hope he grows up to be like you!
I'm sure you will be successful in whichever endeavor you choose to pursue in life, based on the fine character and leadership you've always shown while representing the orange.
We will miss you skylar! You're a true vfl!!

Oh skylar...one minute you love him, the next you loathe him

Those were my feelings during his career, but knowing now I'll never see him on the court again, I kinda miss it. I always thought he played really hard, and he did a good job with perimeter defense most of the time, and people don't give him enough credit.

Don't know if you are just trying to get a rise out of people, but you have zero class. I'm ashamed you are a Vol fan.

i think he did the best he could but had no business ever playing for us...do i respect him the answer is yes. ..did he have any business.playing as much as he did no...not his fault

He was kind of like a Rudy on a less talented team than Rudy. If everyone tried as hard as Skylar, we'd be waiting to watch our game Thursday or Friday in the NCAAT instead of loathing the team for losing early for a 2nd year straight in the NIT. Needless to say, I will miss watching this kid, he was always one of my favorites, much like Steven Pearl was one of my favorites. They just do something with a certain grit that the rest of the team doesn't bring. Enjoyed watching both guys play.

I respect that guy. Came as a walk-on shunning schollies. Wanted to be a Vol, period. Earned a scholly. Always always a good attitude. Made one huuuuge shot and several other important ones. Maybe most of all was his improvement as a defender.

Not physically gifted enough to excel in the SEC, but you gotta respect the man.

People can say he sucks or whatever. But if every player played as hard and with as much grit, determination, and heart as Skylar....well we wouldn't have been in the NIT. Say what you want about him, but that kid bled orange and never took a second off in any game. Thank you for your time in K-Town Skylar, I wish you the best.

All one can expect from a player is 100% and Skylar gave that when he was on the floor. He is the type that will probably turn out to be a good coach if he chooses that career.

IMO nobody played harder defense, and he was the kind of player to come off the bench, do his job, hit a 3 and sit...
