A name that I haven't heard yet is Mike Stoops, He's unemploymed right now. What were his defenses rank when he was at OU? Can someone dig up the numbers?

Could do worse. Anyone thinking that Shannon is in the bag, might be in for a rude surprise come Monday. That's if they announce a DC at all Monday.

I was listening to a radio show over here in Nashville yesterday and a Miami fan called in and said that RS rely's on talent, he doesn't know how to make adjustments when the talent is lack there of. IDK TIFWIW

Wonder why Hart didn't have this callers number for RS background check.But if RS was still at Miami as HC or DC that same caller would be kissing RS butt.

It may be, but I don't understand why a school that had trouble getting a head coach thinks it can get a big name DC. ut had to settle for dooley, so why would a good coach sign on to a sinking ship?

Well looks like the the coaches that left didn't want to work for Hart either. Just funny that such a fuss is being made over the new dc when ut had so much trouble getting a head coach. as far as "sinking ship" just seems to fit the situation as the best term for the program.

Here's a name that was added to the big board on TOS.
Ron Zook
The skinny: If you're looking for high intensity then Zook would be at the top of the page. The former Florida head coach has long been known as a defensive coach. Zook has been a coordinator in both the college game and the NFL game. He has been a coordinator in the SEC and knows the conference and certainly knows Tennessee having been an assistant on Johnny Majors staff. Zook is out of a job and is certainly available and we are led to believe that he would be interested if Tennessee were to call.

If we don't get Shannon I'd much rather have Zook than Steele. Jmo

It's Shannon, but I would take the Zooker over Steele any day of the week. Zooker is a good recruiter and actually understands making adjustments on D - something Steele has no clue about despite having the opportunity to learn the technique from Saban.

I am not a negavol, but I know how rumors are on here and how many times they turn out correct. That said I think Vol Nation is going to have a big meltdown soon and we will have no one to blame but ourselves because of post like this. We are trolling ourselves sometimes.

I pray to God that the rumors are correct this time, but we should know better than to believe this magical thing called 'insider knowledge'.
