does anybody think that Georgia just had a bad game Saturday?
A lot of people on here are all like "Tennessee is on it's way back woooo" UT took LSU to the last second 2 years ago...and finished with a losing record...I'm just saying..all teams have a bad game..maybe this one was Georgia's.

I don't think that was a bad game, did you watch the same rushing attack I watched? I know our D didn't make it too hard on them to run the first 27 points of the game, but they didn't have an off night when 2 of their RB's had over 100 yards. We played the gun slinging contest and came up a bit short.

I honestly think our offense is pretty good. I was reading on one of the UGA forums and they were talking about our "veteran" O-Line...

If we had a defense that could contain a bit better... Oh well.. back to reality

You must understand. Asking any question that may have any negative slant on Dooley will bring swift punishment. We have people on here who are Dooley fans 1st and UT fans 2nd.

I am friends with several GA fans and all of them said they were for sure that Bray would lead us on that final drive to a TD.. Saying that, they all seemed to be more surprised at how well Tennessee played rather than being surprised at how poorly GA played. It was a very exciting game to watch except that we lost :(

It's all about defending Dooley. UT be damned, defend him no matter what.

Has to be the case, no way we should ever compete with anyone in the SEC unless they are having a bad day. :the_finger:

The level of ridiculous around here is amazing, now

If all teams have a "bad day" , maybe we had ours against Akron. I bet you would have accepted that with a smile at half time of that game. :loco:

we are UT fans, and we back our coach! What would make you happy? Fire Dooley and try to hire someone like Gruden or Cowher? They aren't interested, get it? Changing coaches at this juncture would be the final blow for this football team. What coach would want it knowing they are on a short time frame? What high ranked recruit would be interested knowing they may have a new coach or two before they make it thru four years? Learning new offenses and defenses would be something that makes progress impossible immediately. Dooley is making progress, but he can't make things happen overnight like you and your kind want. If after next year, we aren't winning against the rest of the conference, we may need to make that change, but for now, stop with the Dooley bashing and support this program.

A bad game? They has 3 runs from scrimage of over 50 yeard. No, they actually played well. Eventhough we are not where we want to be we are still Tennessee and capable of beating any team on any given Saturday.

VolBeef88 has never been a Tennessee fan and many on here aren't either.

It's obvious that many are Liars/Posers/Trolls/UT haters but others are alot harder to uncover.

Just IGNORE the UT haters and move along.

CDD is making progress but just not as quickly as most of us real fans want but getting a new coaching staff would be total ignorance at this point and would set our program back at least 5 years minimum.

VFL...GBO!!!

Glad we were in it late, but let's be honest - 2 fumbles and a pic 6 by UGA all in the first half. Its not even close if we don't get those breaks, so yeah, kinda bad game for them.

If a "bad day" is 500+ total yards and hanging 51 on a division rival I hope we have nothing but shi**y Saturdays for the next 20 years. In all seriousness, I think it had less to do with UGA having a bad day and more to do with UT doing what it had to do to put itself in a position to win the game. Most thought that for us to be in it late we would have to force some turnovers/breaks, run the ball, and more than likely score at least 30pts; we did all of those things.

On the LSU comment, they definitely had a bad game against us two years ago. They practically gave us the game, turning the ball over 4 times, and we still barely mustered 200 total yards and 14 pts. Point is, do good teams have off days? Yes. Was this past Saturday one of those days? No.

UGA had a good game and so did UT. It just goes to show that any perceived talent disparity is minimal. You guys have a very good team. If you hadn't let our freshmen running backs run wild, you know what the outcome would have been I look forward to watching this UT team the rest of the season. If they come out with their head screwed on straight, they can compete with anyone in the SEC.

I was very impressed with the UT offense and at times the defense. If this team continues to improve they will be very dangerous.

Why is it "fans" want to dismiss the fumbles and interceptions for UT as being "lucky" to keep us in the game? Anyone who thinks this way in my opinion is a fair weather fan or a negavol. We made the plays that caused the turnovers just like GA caused the turnovers we had.

Did we fold like a cheap tent against GA when we were down in the first half? No... Did we make adjustments at halftime and come out in the second half and continued to fight? Yes... Would I call our performance a moral victory? No...

The fight we shown against GA needs to continue and grow through out the season, that is the kind of determination that will win you games down the road. Next week in Starkville our team needs to come out with fire and intensity and take it to the Bulldogs for 60 minutes and come away with a W. If they are able to do that it will give them a boost of confidence for Bama and SC where we will be tested hard and need to fight for 60 minutes in each of those games. We may not win those games but if we can show we can hang with them it is a step in the right direction.

I have never seen as many fans whine over things in all my 40+ years of being a Vol fan.

Sadly - the most sound logic in this entire thread and it isn't from a Vol. I think you are correct and that there is a good chance that we see continued improvement as the season progresses - the players learn the new defense the staff learns and adjusts players on the defense, etc.
