At the mall in Atlanta. He was wearing a Tennessee hat and looked happy.

The real question is why was he happy after such a tough season? Why is he not studying film right now? Why isn't he in the weight room?

Obviously Dooley does not have a hold of this team. No leadership.

I hope you're not serious. It's really close to Christmas so I'm sure he's enjoying his time at home. There will be plenty of time for film study, weightroom, etc later on. I know I enjoy being home from college to get away for a bit and I'm sure he does too.

I cannot fathom this kid smiling, with having just won a freshmen all-American award AND it being Christmas. I guess complacency has kicked in.

Manning would have been at the complex working out 4am-11pm with a few film sessions thrown in there!

The sad part is, many fans would expect him and all the other players to be in the film and weightroom 24/7- even during the Holidays because they didn't go to a bowl. The coaches, on the other hand, don't really get a break. They're the ones getting paid the big bucks.

If I was 19, I would rather be at the mall with a girl over Christmas break than practicing for the Liberty bowl.

I really did see him tonight, but thanks everyone for seeing the sarcasm in the rest of my post.

I was glad to see him sporting the Power T proudly! Go Vols!

Everybody makes a big deal about if players said they didn't want to go to an average bowl. Of course they said it. Guys in the past thought the same way about the Peach and Citrus bowls too, they just didn't say it. Yes, we as fans and coaches talk about how valuable the practice is. The players don't want to be practicing in the cold for an average bowl any more than we want to get any business done at this time of year. I'm glad Vandy can get excited about going to Memphis and we don't get excited about the thought.
