Dooley gets all the blame for the defense, but no credit for growth of offense and special teams.

Now, at the end of the day, his hire of Sal may well be his undoing, but don't act like we're not better in some aspects.

Dooley isn't the worst coach ever, but he did make a crappy hire.

With even an average-to-bad defense, this bunch would be praising Dooley for coach of the year.

There's a fine line between success and failure. Our D woes have placed us on the unfavorable side. W-L is key.

If Dooley is fired, it's for the same reason as Fulmer: $$$. He made a bad choice in staff and that staff led to his undoing a la attendance and concessions.

We are better in many aspects than 3 years ago. Unfortunately, one glaring aspect of the game is holding this squad back.

Whether Dooley & Co. are back next year or not, my plea is to chill out with the vitriol and let things unfold as they may.

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts what a wonderful Christmas it would be. Too many "ifs". Basically, Dooley is way over his head and has to go, regardless of these last 3 games.

The offense has been pretty good the last few years and has improved this year. But it hasn't improved nearly to the extent that the defense has deteriorated.

Rational thoughts will get you nowhere with this group. Well said.

That's the type of condescending garbage that I absolutely can't stand. Like you're some sort of prophet just because you happen to 'see the sense in what he said' and agree with it.

No. It's not like that at all. And it wasn't well said at all.

If we had a better defense, we'd still lose. We would always find a way to lose. Because Dooley is a loser. Defense aside, we've had some chances to win games this year (and in the previous two), and haven't. We always choke. We never come up big under pressure. EVER. Any time we have a chance to win, we, as a collective team, just freak out and mess everything up. There are also lots of stupid penalties. We haven't improved in that department this year either. All mental errors.

This team is MENTALLY weak. They take after their coach. He isn't a winner.

Dools as head coach: 1 winning season, 4 losing seasons, 1 incomplete losing season.

A defense that went from 28th nationally to over 100th now - in less than one season with a "deeper roster" thanks to the recruiting genius of Sir Derek Dools. The difference more than offsets the improvement in the very good offense. It is easily on pace to be the worst defense in over 130 years of UT football. A defense that just gave up 721 yards to a middle of the pack Sunbelt Conference team in its own stadium.

Yee-ha.
