That Wilbon is reporting Michigan's Rich Rodriquez is on the way out.

Surely they're not announcing this before their biggest rivalry game.

If ND makes the jump and fires Chunkie Weis... Michigan may just follow suit.

Puts them on similar timetables as far as recruiting and hiring assistants.

Rich Rod should have never left West Virginia. It takes a Pat White type QB to run his offense proficiently and he just doesn't have it at Michigan. IMO, Pat White is the best spread QB ever and yes, that includes Timmy boy. Pat White got him the job at Michigan and not having Pat White will get him fired.

If true; Michigan will be making the same type of move that Kentucky did with Billy Clyde. The inmates appear to be running the asylum.

The Michigan program has a very low tolerance for the type of shenanigans RR has been pulling. Finishing .500 or lower only compounds the problem. osu remaining a top 10 program, and relatively clean on a national perception, throughout makes the situation intolerable.

Exactly. And with the ND situation... they may possibly be in an arms race with them.

That would be fun to watch.

Michigan needs to get better, osu needs some competition in the big 10(11), just as tejas needs some competition in the limp 12.

Why not Harbaugh? My assumption is that would be the reason for doing this.

a lot of michigan alumns were not too pleased with his statement about them putting their football players in easy majors. they might look past it though.

The coaching rumors are getting cranked up early this year.

Weiss, Rich Rod, Mangino, Stoops, Meyer, and even Leach. The off season should be interesting.

They might not like it, but letting the truth bother them that way makes no sense.

We live in the "What have you done for me lately" society. Its sad to see it, but it is what it is. The days of coaches being "lifers" will die with Bowden and Paterno.

Let's face it. Stanford wont pay him what he's worth and they still draw 9th in the pac-10 so it's not as though the alumns are going to pay up for him.

hmmmmm:

Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh won't get into Michigan football speculation | freep.com | Detroit Free Press

Murray: “But you’ve heard the rumors and I’m not saying that you would entertain it. You know if something doesn’t work out with Rich Rodriguez at Michigan, as an alum you’re going to be called by them … ”

Harbaugh: “Let me just stop you right there, Bruce. This is big game week. This is Cal week, and as you would understand, all my focus and our focus has to be on that. So if we’re going to keep going into this I’ve got other things that are more pressing. … This week is just one of those weeks where the focus really has to be on the game we’ve got coming up.”
