Hey VolNation--I was just in Missoula, Montana for a little over two weeks. I found it very interesting to listen to and talk to Montana folk about the upcoming game. After listening to the radio personalities for days saying things like, "We are going to go down and show those hillbillies what real football is all about," I began asking people around campus and town. Guys, they genuinely think that they are going to come to Neyland and beat us. And they don't even think it will be a big deal.

I asked them why they thought that and they all said that based on their preseason ranking (supposedly #4 in I-AA) and our record the last 2-3 years, they are looking at this game as very winnable for them. Of course, I horse laughed and said that there will only be one Appalachian State-type of upset in this generation. But, they insisted that it wouldn't be that big of an upset.

And this is not just one random dude in a bar. This is 20-25 people that I talked with there about the game. Just thought that I would share.

V,B!

Yeah, they have been blowing that dellusional bunk on this board too. I really can't wait for the UT 50 + point victory on saturday.

Can't wait for them to fly home disappointed. After next weekend they get to play the rest of their little league football schedule and still feel like they belong. Hope springs eternal.

Going to go ahead and call BS on this one. I live in Missoula, am a booster, and know many people involved with the program. Nobody is acting like that at all. Matter of fact, there is more concern than optimism. There are some overly optimistic fans, but the majority of our fan base would be very very surprised if we pulled off an upset.

I respect their confidence, but we're gonna put it on them. They have no chance whatsoever.

UT wins... BIG.

Both sides always have a chance to win. That's why they play the game.

And I would rather play a team who comes out trying to win, then one who comes out already beaten. I watch football for a reason.

Well, the students at the UofM campus, The Break, The Old Post, Taco del Sol, Iron Horse, Red's and the other places I was spoke a very different tone. I'm assuming that I didn't talk with any boosters or anyone "involved with the program," but I honestly did speak with a ton of people and this was the general consensus.

And, by the way...Cold Smoke is way better than Moose Drool.

In my opinon they can expect there team to win we do. But I don't see that happening here or there maybe in the circumstances Wyo came in and beat us but this team has more heart I think and wouldn't go out to some chumps that in reality don't have the skills to play big boy ball down south. That being said I hope Dooley copies and pastes this to every facility UT has to piss off some linebackers and safeties and let the good times roll this one should be over at the half UT 48- 0

I saw it at the store the other day and had seen people on here discussing it. I almost bought it but passed at the last second. If its good, I'll pick it up next time

Some of us expect Montana to be as bad as Western Kentucky or UT-Martin. If we have a 4 TD lead at half or end up winning in a shutout, I will be very impressed. I'm thinking more like 45-13, with a couple TDs against a worn-out team in the 4th quarter to make it prettier.

lol

And what's up with Montana referring to Tennessee as hillbillies and hicks? That seems like one of the last states that should be tossing those kinds of insults around. I mean they've got what, 200 people in the whole state? I'm sure their city life is just amazering.

Their state's way more scenic, at least.

And a pop star from Tennessee uses Montana as her last name for her alter ego so what does that make her??
